Sightron S -Tac Scope

Any of you Fellas have any experience or opinions with this scope,
Sightron S-TAC 4-20X50FFPZSIRMH, was wondering how it compares with the Sightron Slll, thanks

I own both and 3 of each. I think the SIII may edge out the STAC glass a bit but so little that when and where I use it really doesn't matter. I hunt with mine. Shooting beyond 1000 yards at varmints and steel doesn't seem to make a difference. Mirage effects both scopes as it does all. Clarity and quality is excellent on both models. Deer at up to 700/800 yards max doesn't seem to really favor either scope. I'd say if there are some competitive shooters out there using both, they could give you more input on targets. I don't think the STAC is designed for use in competition IMO. Personally more of a tactical/ hunting scope.

Thanks you for the informative reply

I have both the 4x20 and the higher end 2.5x17.5 S-Tac, the 2.5x17.5 definitely has better glass than the 4x20 but like has been stated is at a higher price point.

the 4x20 is hard to beat for the money, I doubt there is a better scope out there at that price point.

yes sir they did at least? don't know if they still do.
Richard Utting (sharpshooting the UK) did a review on it a couple of years back, little heavy but otherwise a excellent hunting scope.

I’ve got 2 4-20 S-TACs that I got from Optics planet. They did an exclusive for them in a grey color scheme and they sold for $370 I believe.

I spent a lot of time comparing it to my Leupold LRPs as well as. Nightforce SHV.

Glass quality and clarity is as good as both of them in good lighting. Once you get into situations where you’re looking towards the sun or you have glare, the STAC doesn’t keep up, more glare.

In low light it’s good and isn’t far off from either of the others

One thing that it is more picky about is at full power it’s more finicky for eye relief. You really need to be in the exact right spot at dull power otherwise the edges get cloudy.

POI and tracking is as perfect as I can tell.

For being a 1/3 or less than the price of the other two, I’m very happy with it.

I have two s3's and just bought a 4x20x50 s-tac. As said above... for the price I don't think it can be beat. I think the glass it very good. I just received it this afternoon so I have not compared it next to my s3's yet but looking through it I would be surprised if it was not the same as the s3's. Nice audible clicks on the turrets just like the s3's. I plan on putting this one on a .223 for prairie rat shooting. For what I paid I might buy another. I'll know more after this weekend.;):)

I HAVE 4 OF THEM AND AS SAID THERE HARD TO BEAT FOR WHAT THEY COST MINE ARE THE DUPLEX MODELS THERE HAS BEEN MANY VARMINTS TAKE OUT WITH THEM FORSURE

I have an older discontinued S111, 3.5-10x56. Shooting at night my 4-20x50 duplex stac is brighter, and easier to focus. I may try the S111 again this winter, but when using a red varmint light the stac is winning. Both have very good turrets. I have 4 of the 4-20's. My Nikon Monarch not even in the same class, stac much better.
