Welcome to the Reloading Forum -- Introduce Yourself

Hello, I am new to the forum and looks to be a good place for info and bang around Ideas. I am 46 years old and I live in Arizona, I have been reloading for about 5-6 years and a amateur long range shooter (self taught). I am currently going to attempt to dive into the Fclass world and see how I fair, Just built a Rem 700 .223 bolt action, 20" 1:9 twist hand bedded with High Score bedding, nestled in a Boyd's stock. I am starting load development for a 500 yard .223 round, 69g SMK Ballistic tipped, in a Lapua case and CCI small rifle primer, either Varget or 322 powders. I hope to glean as much information from the more experienced loaders and shooters here and look forward to back and forth on ideas.

Keep yalls powder dry

Hi!

I thought I should stop just reading you guys and start participating a bit, so here I am. I am fairly new to shooting in general but I am developing a passion for long range and precision shooting (talk about a rabbit hole). I live in Yukon, Canada (Alaska's neighbor) and I hope to get into big game hunting soon.

Anyway, thanks for this platform.

Hey brand new here so let me know if this is the wrong forum.
I have recently started to try and figure out what cartridge my grandfathers old rifle is chambered in. After doing a chamber cast I have determined that the closest cartridge is the 6x47 Lapua but research says it was introduced around 2006 and this rifle was fixed up around 95. Any one know of a case with similar measurements? he was big on wild cats and reloading his own ammo for all of his guns and was big into competition shooting. Any help would be great I have been beating my head against the wall for a while now

I am new to this forum but I have been reading posts for a couple days. I have been reloading for over 30 years. I just bought a 32 K Hornet barrel for my Encore. Didn't know a lot about the best powders and bullets until I read some old posts. I hope to learn a lot here from these knowledgeable reloaders.

Hello all. Long time lurker and finally signed up. I mostly shoot and reload for handguns but I have a 22-250 that has been ignored way too long and I need to put it to use. I found this site and there is a LOT of good information here, I'm looking forward to gleaming a lot of it.

I have been a long time lurker, finally upgraded to silver and figured I should introduce myself.

I was turned onto this forum by a colleague when I was getting back into shooting after a foray into motorcycles (sport bikes and dort bikes). Bought a 308 to learn to shoot past 400 yrds, and have been hooked since. Now I have 2 308s, a 22-250, AR15, 10mm auto, 40 S&W, and a new barrel for my M70 30-06, reloading for all.

I want to thank everyone for sharing their knowledge and look forward to continuing to learn.

Hello all, I have been lurking here for quite some time, peeping around the corners, absorbing all the information I can. I admit a lot of it is over my head by several feet. I've been rolling my own since I was 14 , that's been a lot of years ago. I load for 223, 6.5 Gren, 257 Roberts, 25-06,7mm-08,280 Rem, 308 Win, 243 Win, 357 Mag, 9mm. I have cast my own for pistols. I feel that we should learn something every day. Whether it be firearm related, carpentry , basket weaving or what ever. Looking forward to learning more from this site. There is a vast wealth of information to be gleaned from here , and am modestly looking forward to this wealth of information.

Gday all,

Jawry from Australia here. Hope you are all safe and healthy.

Second post on the forum (first is a Wanted to buy)

I’m quickly approaching mid life (that’s 60, right?) and have been an active hunter and shooter since a very early age.

Was blessed with being born and bred on a large wheat and cattle property in western NSW but now live in Brisbane, Qld.

Still enjoy getting out into the bush on a regular basis and use the bow as much as rifle for pigs and goats. Yet to bag my first deer - not for lack of trying.

Those keeping score - I have a 55lb Bear recurve bow, Brno Model 2 22 LR, Browning A Bolt in 22 Hornet (soon to be 17 Hornet?), Tikka M55 in 222, and a Tikka M55 (at the gunsmiths having a 6mm TCU barrel installed)

Have been trolling here for a while before joining and have learned heaps.

Hello:

My name is Jeffrey Tooker. I have been posting to this forum since June second, and finally found the introduce yourself thread. Duhh !!!!
I have been reloading for 40+ years. I shot cast bullets for a number of years, before getting into 600 and 100 yard Bench Rest about 12
years ago. I just shoot locally, we have a range that goes to 1000 yards. I shoot 6 BRA, 6 BR, and 6 PPC.

Hello everyone, I am new to the site. I have been recommended to this page by a fellow shooter. I have been looking for resources for higher level reloading information. I don’t have a lot to contribute, more than likely I will just be reading threads trying to extract all the info I can. Thanks all and happy shooting

Hello, first post here. Was googling for more info on my Dillon 650 powder throw differences and came across this forum. Great site, had to sign up and upgrade to Gold. Tons of info!!!

Hello

I am interested in getting into reloading in the near future. Seems some components are not readily available these days. I am interested in 9mm, .222, 6mm-284, 270, and 6mm. Initially, I have a question about loads for a 6mm-284. I inherited a 6mm-284 along with some reloads. Can someone verify these loads are acceptable 1) Powder 54 grains 4831 / bullet 85 gr HBPT Game King / primer Remington #9-1/2 red 2) Powder 55.5 gr 4831 / bullet 60 gr Varmiter / Primer Remington #9-1/2 black. I am taking this info from the label my father-in-law created. Cases were Winchester .284. I apologize if I have something written wrong. Hopefully you will be able to decipher what I mean. Your help is very much appreciated.

Go to the forum sub sections, particularly reloading. There should be some good help there.

Yo' Fella's !! Been meaning to join for awhile, but life gets
in the way. Some will know me, and I recognize a few names.
Just a retired tool maker, machinist, fabricator. Past history
goes back to IPSC (Pre UPSA), and early workings with the
Armalites, and Colts. Have found favor with the bolt guns.
and have several under my belt on the Savage target actions.
Wild Catting is also a hobby. I have a few that I should have
published 30 or more years ago but bullet tech was not as good
as it is now. Looking forward to the one in the works currently.
It's another of my old drafts, that maybe it's time has come ??
Been fire forming brass this past week.
