Most accurate 6.5 creedmoor rifle

IMO, the "Choice" is,. $3,500.00 for a Custom Build or,.. buy, a Tikka TAC A-1, THEN buy, a GOOD Scope and never look back ( that's what, I would DO ! ). There are, a few "stories" about, some people with "Hard Luck" trying to shoot Tikka's, but NOT,.. many ! My $650.00 ( without, Scope ) Left Handed, Tikka, T-3, SS, in .243 Win., can shoot, SUB 1/2 MOA all Day, long ! Have shot, several, 5 shot groups @ 100, in the .2's -3's with, 87 grain Berger HVLD's @ 3,150 FPS. I was going to, ream out, the .243 Win bbl to, 6 SLR, but it shoots so good, as a .243,.. I left it, alone ! IF you "need" a $3,500 Custom Rifle,. go for, IT ! But, 99% of the Guys I know,.. LOVE their, Tikka's ! Be sure to, CAREFULLY "Break in", the Factory Barrel, tho ! The main Gripe about, the 6.5 Creed was, the Guys that, "claimed" it was, a SURE THING, Elk slayer to,.. 1,500 yards,...

Making my head spin with all these calibers I'm learning about. Was never that into it shot for many years recently getting back into it. I always just shot .308 tried and true. Wanted to go shoot 1000 that's all but like to buy quality stuff.

308 will get you there. Focus on good glass, that’s the advice I got when I first got into it and I found it to be true.

Another cheaper alternative is the Remington 700 5R Gen II. That’s an extremely accurate, well built rifle. Price is right around $900.

And we wonder how/why we continue to loose our 2nd Amendment rights? Hell,shooter's just have to argue about everything. This brands better! This cartridge is better! And on & on & on....
I just like to shoot guns,I've got many brands- Factory,Semi-Custom,and Custom. I've got 22 LR's up to .458 calibers. I like them all.

Why do people argue over the merits of a single cartridge? If you don't like it,then don't buy it!

260 Remington fans got butt hurt when the 6.5 Creedmoor came out. I don't know why,Remington has always had a history of screwing the pooch on their inventions and marketing.
Then the 6.5 x 47 Lapua guy's felt like they weren't special anymore because their case design was so much more special than a necked down 308 Winchester case.

Hornady blew the shooting world away with the extraordinary marketing job they did with the 6.5 Creedmoor. They came out full bore,and it didn't take long before a lot of major firearms companies couldn't wait to produce rifles for the new cartridge.
13 years later,it's still going strong and there's no telling how many new shooter's this one cartridge has brought into the shooting sports arena.

I put my first 6.5 CM together in 2009 just to see if it was worth all the hype. Nothing special,just a Savage Varmint action,and a cheap E.R.Shaw varmint contour barrel,Choate tactical stock,and a Sightron SIII scope. Bought a set of dies,some brass,and Berger 140 VLD's,and poured some H4350 in them. That rifle shot lights out right out of the gate. I'd never shot any 6.5mm cartridge before this rifle,always target shot with a 223, 308, or 300 WM. It made me start looking at other 6.5mm cartridges.
Since then,I put together a 6.5-06, a 6.5x6.8 wildcat AR-15, built another 6.5 CM using a Shilen DGR action,and bought a DPMS LR-260H 260 Remington. I like them all!

Yes,there are plenty of novice shooter's that think the 6.5 CM is the only cartridge to shoot,but they also don't have the knowledge that us old guy's have. They will learn that it isn't the best cartridge in the world,but by then,some new super duper cartridge will come out and they will forget about the Creedmoor.

@Txhillbilly ,. The Question was about, WHICH, Rifle was the most accurate. I am not disputing, his choice of Caliber. My suggestion was FOR the Tikka Rifle ( THE most accurate, AFFORDABLE, "Factory Rifle", Today,.. IMO ! ) BUT, since WHEN did, any of, the young people, EVER listen to, GOOD advice from, us old Folks ???

I have a Tikka CTR and a Tikka T3 6.5 Creedmoor. I also have two 6.5x47Ls, a 25x47L and a 6x47L so don’t hate on me too much. Both of the Tikkas shoot under MOA at a 100 with factory loads. I bought them for my nieces and for my wife. The CTR is suppressed and they all shoot it well. I also have a friend who has Bergara that does a good job too. I didn’t want everyone shooting my customs. The Tikkas have done good job and there is more aftermarket goodies For Tikkas compared to some of the other offering out there.

The Creedmoor was marketed very successfully, more than other cartridge I’ve seen. I think it’s a very capable round but if you handload, I kind of like the idea having something a little different. I do get tired of all things Creedmoor but it will do a good job.

If I could hold steadier, I’d say mine was the most accurate... as soon as I find the bullet and powder it likes I’ll confirm that.

Really it's all about what the public wants and will pay for. Hype or no hype if it performs and the public wants it the manufacturers will provide.

I’m a middle aged guy but only got into guns when the greatest gun salesman of all time (2008-2016) convinced me.

For my first non-223, I chose 6.5creed. No regrets.

The hatred for the round is really just misdirected angst at the morons making claims like 6.5cm is a superb 1000y elk cartridge. Even if such a thing existed, it wouldn’t be the 6.5cm. But there are no proper 1000y hunting rounds.

Apart from that, there’s zero reason to hate the 6.5. All it gives you is a level of performance proven on game (6.5x55), modern reamer design, quality brass from many sources, recoil you can tolerate all day, barrel life better than almost any 6mm and affordable yet superb factory ammo.

Angst aside, the case is compelling, pun intended.

Compare it to a .270 . Specifically the federal 130gr BT load. The .270 has almost the same exact energy at 100y that the 6.5 143 ELD-x has at the muzzle. At 400y, they have the same energy. Beyond 400, the 6.5 walks away from the .270. The point isn’t that I suggest hunting beyond 400y. The point is that it’s never worse than 100y behind the mighty .270, but burns a lot less powder, has about 3/4 the recoil. It will feed from a 10rd box mag. It will give longer barrel life.

Other cartridges deliver similar 6.5mm performance, but with its ubiquity, the 6.5 is a sound choice you should never feel the need to defend.

now—rifles! There’s not going to be a “most accurate” because the differences boil down to individual rifles, not brands or models. Some brands are consistently excellent—Tikka, Bergara, others in that price range or higher. Other brands are less consistently good— Savage, rem, Howa, maybe Ruger. One of the best RPRs might outshoot 5/10 tikkas. But the best Tikka might outshoot 95/100 RPRs.

There’s also more than accuracy— ease of operation, comfort, pride of ownership. These might be less important but they aren’t irrelevant.

My next rifle will line be a custom action in a chassis with a DIY friendly barrel but design or available shouldered prefit.

I think you are kind of living in never never land it will never duplicate the 270 or the 6.5x55 in a modern action..... My 270's with a 130 over 3100 with a 24" barrel aCM wouldn't do that shooting straight down a mine shaft..... Plus the 6.5x55 all the loads are in the loading books are for 100 year old rifles, you should take a look at them preform at 1000, you need to rethink your statement.... the CM is nothing special and average at best..... jim

You can believe what you want. I'm telling you what the facts are. The 6.5x55 in a "modern action" is still limited to speeds less than a creedmoor or .260 because the "modern action" is still just a 58,000psi round.

The creedmoor not only duplicates the Swede, it can often surpass. Argue if you want, but volumes of load data from Hornady, Alliant, Hodgdon, and others will refute you. They all show the Creedmoor as capable of higher speeds than the 6.5x55 with the same bullet weight. Must be a conspiracy?

Find the ballistic calculator of your choice. Put in the 130gr Federal NOsler 130gr Ballistic load. Then put in the 6.5 creedmoor with the 143 ELD-X.

I think you had better get out in the real world and instead of reading what you want to believe into it. Hand load and you will see and don't believe what the factory hype publishes. The CM will just barely stay ahead of the 6.5x47 and I ran the 130 at 3000 out of it and it would shoot in a .1..... jim

So I think GAP makes a pretty darn accurate 6.5CM. I really enjoy my crusader.
