You read correctly about the Redding not sizing enough at the .200 line. I recently made the switch to a Wilson FL Bushing die, and now I can bump my Dasher shoulder .002 and close my bolt with ease.
I'm using fireformed Lapua BR brass with unturned necks, and the .264 bushing gives me the neck tension I'm looking for. No noticeable difference from the Redding in that regard.
It very well could be the case that the Redding FL-S just didn't work well with my chamber. However the Wilson die sized my brass narrower at the .200 line than the Redding, and that was necessary for my chamber. For anyone who's interested, my chamber was cut using a JGS reamer with a 0.4707 dimension at the .200 line.I have a Redding and have zero problems bumping the shoulder or sizing at the .200 line.
There must be more to it. The specs of your chamber maybe?
