Returning To Smallbore Prone

The Pro liner is a good glove for prone. The cut is very similar to other brands, but the coating spreads the sling better, and goes all the way to the cuff. I think the padding is a little thicker than the Thune Solid.

The new Anschutz Concept looks to be similarly stiff, and is a bit cheaper than the Monard here in the UK. There have been reports that the sizing is very small, about two sizes small.
that is what i have been reading on the Monard

Ughhhhh! Dangit! Got me thinking too much. More than once I've salivated over the Monard gloves and now have me looking at new slings too, my 20+ year old leather sling getting a bit long in the tooth.

Gotta say that shooting a clean on the 1st 50 meter reduced was really sweet but the 2nd target didn't go quite so well so there's room for improvement. Couldn't be me, got to be the equipment! Well, maybe the equipment just a little bit, after 120-rounds my wrist was cutting up a little and I did fight the sling a touch.

Was able to practice a bit the week before, worked out a little higher position produced a lot more X's so maybe i can convert that to my Midrange set-up also.

The Creedmore no-pulse looks interesting. It's very similar to the Gehmann no-pulse, but cheaper. Sadly the 2in cuff means it's not legal for NSRA (or ISSF) competition.

I have used the Creedmoor No-Pulse sling for over a year now and am happy with it, so far. The No-Pulse replaced an Anschutz Ultra sling with micro adjuster, but I found I really didn't use the micro adjuster very much and the Anschutz sling degraded after a couple of seasons. The No-Pulse sling is a bit bulky, but definitely more comfortable when in position.

Well I decided to part with some of my money & ordered a Creedmore No-Pulse sling. Hoping that it will help with the pulse that causes the scope dot to dance back & forth across the X ring and sometimes, the 10 ring. Well, okay most of the time across the 10 ring.
Gotta say that Smallbore prone shooting is about the most unforgiving of the shooting sports. Your form, follow through, body position and shot to shot consistency are all critical. The slow (1050 +/-) bullets that have a horrible BC are blown about by the least puff of wind and the ammo, even the expensive stuff has surprises in it. (like cleaning a 100 yd target with a high x count & get a funny sounding shot with a low 9) Challenging it is.
Glad to have some more good guys joining the ranks of Smallbore Prone though.
Welcome to the party USMCDOC, if you ever make it to south east Florida, stop in and put some holes in paper with us.

The few of us that shot had so much fun, we are thinking to set this up as a monthly match (EPCGC). I got targets in yesterday to give enough for a full match. ~$3.00/person for targets for a full match.

Working out the logistics of it now. Wonder when NRA is going to open their programs up? I'm going to loose my classification I'm guessing if I don't shoot a match soon.

Surely jest that they wouldn't do something like that..

It's at least one size too small. Putting on the XL I just received is the same as donning a Nitrile glove. Don't hesitate to go one size larger, because it's even worse trying to get it off. Thank heavens for the pull tabs on the fingers, but how long will they last? The padding covering the back of the glove appears robust and thick enough to provide real protection from a sling mounted close to the hand stop rail; where sling tension is flattening your hand.

Removing tight gloves;
What works for me is to loop Nylon cord in the middle finger hole and out of the next finger hole, tie the ends together with about a 1 1/2" loop outside the finger holes. Then use the loop to pull the glove off. Works very well.

The Creedmoor sling does look well made. I like the D-rings connecting the strap to the cuff. If I'm right, these should help the cuff get a good purchase on the upper arm, even when it's fairly low. I can set my conventional sling to pull symmetrically, but can't replicate the swivelling of the D-rings.

Shame the cuff is 2in, and not legal for NSRA/ISSF matches.

Inside of the cuff is heavily textured rubber to keep it from slipping. Setting it up was a pain because the rubber did not want to move when I oriented the cuff to yield equal lengths of the sling.
Tuesday will tell the tale when I return to my club for the weekly practice in humility.

That is an excellent idea; and I'll incorporate it in the 2XL I'm receiving next week, because the previously mentioned XL is too, too tight and is on its way back.

Thank you.

Back when i shooting high power.. i was using one of these for a while.. I am not sure what happened to it..but it disappeared..
If you had the same one I do, and you're near a stable, go to the Tack Room and you'll probably find it.

Are there any Smallbore shooters using the original black No-Pulse Sling? I've never seen one and High Power shooters seemed to have ignored it also; at least in the Central Valley.

No, it is NOT the Jensen; but US Patent 5715979, designed by David L. Crandall and executed by Allgame of Idaho Falls, ID. Allgame has disappeared and the patent expired 25 March 2017; consequently others are trying their hand at improving the original. I'll try imaging and uploading it this evening.

Here's the patent write up: http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PALL&p=1&u=/netahtml/PTO/srchnum.htm&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1=5715979.PN.&OS=PN/5715979&RS=PN/5715979

Here's the original No-Pulse Sling:

It is black; the color change is from LED lamps.

The cuff is 2.0 wide, but the long strap is only 1.2.

The picture doesn't do it justice, but the cuff is massive and very stiff from a reinforcing synthetic band.

Yes, that is very much not a Jensen.

A stiff cuff would be useful. I've seen a few Centra pulse-free slings turn from an O to an 0 under tension. I like the D ring attachments for the strap to self-level, these set it apart from a conventional sling set symmetrically with an open cuff.

Shame about the 2in cuff.
