20 Tactical powder

I am using 10x with my 20 Tactical and 39 and 40 grain Bullets. No one close to me has any 10X powder at this time. I thought of trying a back up powder. Would N133 work? I love that powder. Any suggestions??

The Sierra Edition IV manual list these two loads for the 20 Tactical with their 39gr. BiltzKing Bullet:
Accuracy Load: 26.7grn. of Varget
Hunting Load: 28.8grn. of CFE223

I've been using WC844 surplus powder for my 20 Practical. Meters well and has a burn rate like H335.

Bullet 05, you can use N133. It should work very well. The next question is load data. One thing you could do is email Vihtavuori. The consensus seems to be that a necked down cartridge will experience slightly higher pressure assuming the same powder, and charge weight, all things being equal. The message is to start low. I encourage you to try to get tested data, which you should be able to get, from Vihtavuori.

Best of luck, Peter.

Here are my results with a 35 grain Berger. The powder is AA 2460. This is out of a Dakota Varminter, 9 pounds. Extreme spread is 15 FPS. I’m pleased.

Thanks man for thinking about me. I have a buddy that just called me 5 minutes ago and found me some 10X at a gun store he was at. Also I live in northeast Tn.

I'm seeing a lot more Ramshot and Accurate powders these days (Western Powders, I guess), especially in the smaller calibers. It seems like years ago all I saw was IMR and Winchester. Maybe it's me.

I've been an Accurate Arms fan since it began showing up (early 90s?). I was bulk loading smaller calibers for prairie dog trips back then and could drop charge ball powder with good results. Same with Ramshot when it came along. The temp sensitivity has never been an issue with me.
I still do stick powders, mostly for 25 cal and larger, but I don't load much anymore.
