6 dasher reamer help?

I have searched the forums and I am still confused on the reamer I want for a 6 Dasher.
Shooting Alpha and Lapua Brass (both .2675 neck on loaded round) with berger 105 Hybrid.
They seem to run well in a range of anywhere from 10 - 30 off the lands currently
I think I have settled on a .2705 neck, .2433 free-bore diameter.
My confusion is in case length and throat / lead length and lead angle.
I see case lengths of 1.555 and 1.570 on a number of prints. All my cases would chamber in 1.555 without issue.
Does the maximum case length effect the free-bore length needed?
Would a 2 degree angle have any benefit over a 1.5?
First reamer I have bought and confusion abounds.
Leaning towards JGS due to the feedback I have received from others. I know I can send them a dummy round to work from, but just trying to figure out what I would be looking at when they send me back a print that I wouldn't understand.
 
Using our brass (Alpha Munitions) you want to use a larger neck diameter. I personally recommend a .273 deck diameter, specially if you are shooting a lot of matches in dirty/sandy/gritty/wet areas. If you are neck turning then you can run .271 and under. For the 105 hybrid a FB of .105 is perfect. Overall length for the case should be 1.555, the longer length of 1.57 is for the norma dasher designed brass with the longer neck. run the angle at 1.5 deg and .2440 diameter. Thank you all your replies. Ordering a reamer is a new one for me. The smith I am going to use doesn't have a dasher reamer and I figure it is better to have one anyway for the future. I love the way the current rifle shoots, just have no idea what reamer was used on the barrel I have currently.

Whats the dimensions on the web and the body of the brass?
 
My last lot of 105 hybrids were longer than previous. (They have since updated the QRG) When starting out, I refused to think this way, but unless you have a throater, I would highly encourage specing an optimized reamer instead of a jack of all trades. If shooting the 105 class, even in a 6BRA, I'd want longer than 0.100 FB based on recent JGS custom order experience. For a Dasher, I wouldn't consider less than 0.140 and some people much more successful than I go longer still. Ask around to see if anyone who is winning has ran out of useful neck depth/tension before the barrel lost its edge. Better to conceptualize freebore differences forward from the neck shoulder junction, accounting for neck length, than back from the lead, IMHO. Buy as many bullets of the same lot as you can, preferably at least two barrels worth. Seat a couple to your desired depth and they'll measure for you, for free. It's worth the couple day delay on what could be a 16 week production timeline. Forum advice can be very good, but nothing beats your reamer maker measuring your bullets seated to your liking. (Without knowing someone's usage and liking, especially on a short Dasher neck, their advice, including my own, should be taken with caution.)

Also, recommend avoiding the urge to go snug on the neck. Turning large quantities really sucks and it's not as easy as you might think to do it very well... Even when I think I'm getting better, I haven't arrived yet. I see no reason to go less than 0.004 clearance for a no turn chamber. I've yet to read anywhere that someone proved 0.005 hurt accuracy. Seat your bullets in your thickest, highest variance brass, measure to 0.0001 (not rounding to 0.001 with calipers) and go from there. You'll be very glad you did. Again, shooters much more distinguished than I have proven the same to themselves that undue minimum clearance offerers negligible advantages for some very real potential downsides.
 
Norma Dasher is longer than 1.570 if memory serves: 1.590?

1.570 is fairly common for 6br brass that measures 1.550-1.555 new out of the box.
 
Fwiw, I sympathize with your situation.
Lots of little details and I wouldn't order one of the four "default" Dasher prints JGS sent me, either.

Pick a Smith who has MUCH experience with this case AND in your intended application, at least for your first barrel. Why save a couple bucks on a multi thousand dollar rifle not to mention the time you'll spend trying to figure out why things don't work right the first time. Add up the cost of just one barrels worth of components. Go with someone who can tell you exactly what die works well with their reamer (harrels, whidden, Forster, Redding, etc.) and after you've shot out a couple barrels you'll understand enough to order a reamer however you like.

On a 1.555 long chamber, the FB you mention is way too short for the Hybrids, like 40 thou short, IMHO. I've been running the same 1.555" chamber for years. My henriksen reamer is a .136" freebore and is too short for the hybrid. I lengthen in a separate operation using a unithroater. If you were to order a reamer with freebore to run hybrids...i will take a guess that .145"-.155" will be good. Other bullets out there, the .105" might be good. Bart Hammers come to mind...

Tip of the day...match your freebore to your intended bullet. This is why many LR shooters have many reamers, lol

Is there a big difference in the base dimension ? I'm seeing a lot of .4705" - .471" variations, is there a preference and why? I could see an issue if using different brands of brass, maybe ?

Still haven't pulled the trigger on the reamer yet. After speaking to many people and coming up with what I think is a good design, I am going to send brass / dummy to the reamer manufacturer and check what I currently have working well and then adjust my final design based on the combination of information.

I hear you. I'm leaning towards a .271" nk, .471" at the .200" mark, 1.555" chamber, 1.5 lead, .2440" dia.,and probably a .130" fb.
