Current top 2 or 3 f-open scopes

How many of each were sponsored and how many paid full retail ?? For me stuff like this doesn't carry much weight.

Regardless of whether they paid full price or were sponsored, NF scopes just happen to be on some record setting guns recently at the Berger SWN..Obviously the shooter, guns and loads were working well but the scope had to be also..Not being bias it’s just the way the cards fall..

Ill take another Vortex GE any time
As would I.

It's pretty obvious that an actual competitor was involved in the design decisions and testing. I find the glass to be excellent, the turrets easily and precisely adjustable (although not as "clicky" in detents as it could be-- even Vortex's own PSTs and Razors are better). The reticle is a nearly perfect long range known distance target reticle.

It does get darker in a step function above 40x, but it seems to hold that all the way to 60x. The aperture ring and NF style caps are a nice touch.

It's a heck of a lot of scope for a reasonable price. So reasonable, that could buy two, keep one a spare if the primary should need warranty service, and still be dollars ahead compared to a much more expensive scope whose seller might say "so sad" if it breaks.

Things break. In my hands, more so than others. The vortex warranty was no small part of my choice to go GE.

If you look at the equipment lists for F Open at BSW Nats for previous couple of years at least it seems that Nightforce Scopes dominate, have a look at some of the pics and YouTube vids of these events and you see a lot of NF Comps on the line.March, Sightron and Vortex commonly share 2nd,3rd and 4th.. At my local clubs the NF Comp is the most common.

Edit: Bare in mind that some of the replies above come from some extensive testing or atleast research of others that have tested scopes for various flaws eg. POA change from shot to shot being one..
NF dominates in SR score also especially down south where Ronnie Milford just happens to be a dealer and has sold a lot of scopes to his fellow competitors.

Almost everyone of the top shelf scopes discussed here are just that . However ; I can say that there was definitely a increased number of Vortex Golden Eagles at this years SWN . In both Open , and absolutely in TR . But hey ; I can only count to nine .

Wouldn't it be sweet if the top 10 equipment of the aggregate could be listed from each category?

I see a lot of the high money scopes at matches, some of the prices are remarkably high. They seem to shoot well, but I think it comes down to how clear the optics are, tracking and repeatability. I spoke to a HM shooter that had a 15-55 NF, never took it over the mid 30’s in power, I’m sure some do.
I started with a 6 1/2-20 Leupold in F-TR, worked ok until a spring broke during a match. It lost its tracking, got it fixed by Leupold, sold it, bought a NF BR 8-32 and have used it since. Added a Bullseye Pro to it which made a nice difference for older eyes.
I’ve looked through some March’s, S&B and others, biggest difference was the optics, very clear and crisp. I’m sure that’s were some of the price tag comes from, but if you can see ok, it tracks well and is repeatable, it can win.

Here’s the 2020 scopes from BSWN.

Charts are great but only tell part of the story for any number of reasons.

You also have to consider that literally ANY of the top shooters could’ve won or placed where they did because they’re damn good shooters, not because of the glass they used. I’d argue that many if not most of them would’ve done the same with a 4x Tasco.

Glass is really personal and you have to get behind a few to see what your eyes and brain work with the best and go from there. Glass is a tool, find what you can use the best and go from there. I have a buddy of mine that beats me nearly every time we shoot and he’s running GE scopes and I have Kahles. Trust me, glass isn’t why he beats me.
