6Bra versus 6mm Dasher

I don't think there is any way in it's relatively short life that 6BRA has come close to Dasher.
Hummmm let me see what’s the 6 BRA done lately

WON
IBS 1000 yard Nationals 2019
IBS 600 yard Nationals 2019
IBS 1000 yard Shooter of the Year 2019
IBS 600 yard Shooter of the Year 2019

IBS Records
Smallest Group recorded at 1000 yards
LG 6 Target Agg record 1000 yards
LG 10 Target Agg Record 1000 Yards
LG Score Record 600 Yards
HG highest score record Single Target 600 yards
Smallest Group recorded at 600 yards
Smallest 2 Gun Agg (8 Targets) 600 yards

To my knowledge 4 of the 6 possible 1000 yard LG records Belong to the 6 BRA. While the 4 of the possible 10 records for IBS 600 are held by the 6BRA.

Also at 600 yards for the 2019 season for the matches that “I attend” were won either by 6BR or 6BRA only one match with a dasher.

So it’s definitely holding its own with the dasher and the 6BRA has only become popular within the last 2 or 3 years.

I maybe wrong ? Won't be the first time.

Deep Creek Range Montana 1000 Bench Rest a Dasher set and broke the Record.

I had a 6 Norma Dasher Built . It shoots Varget with 103 Vaper Trails and Berger 105 HB
with no more trouble than my Palma Rifle or AR Match Rifle.
Plus side No Fire Forming .
I maybe wrong again ?

I thought the record was 1.066 by a dasher 5 shots but I seen it on the internet so it must not be true...

One great difficulty with this is the drastic improvements in bullets. If I had the bullets we have today 5 years ago, I would have shot smaller then. The BR improved became popular about the same time as the great bullets became available.
This is a great answer. Years ago it depended on the lot of bullet. You had good ones and bad ones. Bullets have improved greatly in the last 5 years. Maybe because of the competition from the different custom bullet makers. Matt

Guys shooting Dashers have access to the very same custom bullets today so that argument seems to hold no water. The BRA is just getting started. Time will tell how things play out.

Dave.

You missed the point. The BR improved came with the great bullets. I believe that is a part of their success. Today's Dasher and BRI are on equal footing. With todays great bullets they will both shoot better.

I think the thing most seem to forget is the barrel, bullets are only part of it. Even scopes are getting better..... now if they could just make your eyes better...... I like the BR imp. it is easier to make GOOD cases. Plus I can run them at the same useable velocity. I had a lot of success with the Dasher but it was a lot of work to make good cases and yes you can run them faster than the Improved but it doesn't shoot up there.
I really don't see a big difference in the two except the work, bullets then were great also but you can sure see a difference in barrels..... jim

I believe if the better bullets were available back when everybody was shooting a Dasher, the records would be a lot smaller. Bullets make all the difference in the world. Even one or two bad bullets or bullets not quite like the others open up great groups. I Also know many great shooters that have abandoned the BRA because they couldn't get them to shoot. Personally, I favor the WSM. Matt

The Dasher has a higher velocity node that most fail to mention. It shoots extremely well at 3050+ FPS. The BRI is not capable of this velocity.

Heres the load that Mark Frye shot that 3"er in my br improved. Rl15 and hybrids. This was a record string at reade. I thought it was a little fast from the come up to 1k.

Edit: I dont usually shoot there and have since backed it down.
