House arrest!

When did it become legal for the Gov. to place the entire state under house arrest?
Is this still The United States of America ?
Does the Constitution still have meaning?
When did I become responsible for the health of others? You can stay locked in your home if you are worried but I can still live my life as I choose!
Essential buisness can stay open, who says what is essential? Liquor stores are essential, gun shops are not according to this liberal bedwetting piece of crap. How can the governor decide who gets to work and who doesn't?
This is unbelievable! Hope this isn't to political, apologies if it is.
Rant over!

Here in in Kentucky, a man was tested and would not self quarantine, he was ordered to stay home by a local judge and enforced with a deputy sheriff posted outside his house. The governor has briefed/condoned/promoted this on his daily state briefing. All I will say say is this is out of control and hopefully some sanity will prevail.

If he was smart he would have required gun shops to remain open 24/7 and require sale limits of one bullet per customer per day.

Too many people with lack of common sense and respect for others. The Me Me Me generations have never been inconvenienced and aren't comfortable in their own skin unless surrounded by birds of the same feather. This group think is a contributing cause to the lock downs. South Beach Miami was a good example of how these people think.

He should be forced to stay. That the only way to stop spreading this crap. The countries that do the strict quarantine is the ones showing positive results in slowing spread. I wouldn't want that infected guy pushing a cart around in a grocery store

Tough ethical, moral, and personal rights issue. Should an infected person have the right to infect dozens of others because he wants to go out to dinner? Should healthy people have to stay home? How do you tell the difference?

Not easy to answer these conflicts and anyone who has an opinion has difficult questions that can't be answered by their proposal.

It seems most people are on board with efforts to stem the spread of the virus and recognize that staying home, closing businesses, etc is the quickest way to get life back to normal.

This is the danger to us old folks:
The National News had a story on and they "interviewed" a 20 something girl. On TV, when asked what she would do if she got sick she said she would still go to work because she needed the money to pay her bills. She had no savings.
If people with the virus continue to circulate in society, it's going to spread. Duh!
Most youngsters don't save money so they have to go to work.

The part I don't understand is why would you want to spread it to your friends and family stay the hell home. I have more thing around here to keep me busy I could stay home for months.
People you love should come first.

It’s not about the desire to spread anything it’s about making others responsible for your health. You are free to do as you choose and stay home. Maybe work from home and continue to support yourself others might not have that option. Who gets to choose?

It's 11:10 AM and I would like nothing more right now than to run to my local convenience store and grab a couple of hot dogs for lunch. I'm not going to do that because I don't want to inadvertently come in contact with the virus and drag it home to either get it myself or spread it to another member of my family. I feel that, if you have the wherewithal to conduct yourself in a manner that helps to mitigate the effects of this virus, you have an obligation to do so. I'm staying home, not because our governor told me to but because I have an obligation as a concerned citizen to help with this situation if I can.

I could stay home inside without help from the government for weeks if I wanted to. I don’t like or think it’s right for the “nanny state” to arbitrarily tell people to stay home. If all the Constitution isn’t important then none will be.

I hope the liberal's that are falling for the logic and wants of the likes of Biden, Sanders and other democrats, as seeing what socialism/communism would be like in the USA, if and when they get control of the White House. Really wonder if they would like this style of living, no products on the shelves, many of their personal property taken away and orders to stay inside their homes and not venture out ? A curfew, just like Hitler and the SS did with people back during WWII. Only older folks and those that know history would remember that, right ?

I thought this extreme reaction shelter at home for everyone was crap at first, But after 2 guys in my shop bragged, One about returning on an airplane 5 days ago from another country with out a mask or gloves (macho grunt)!! then proceeds to cough into his closed fist right in front of me not just once, Then later extends his hand to me to shake. That was last Friday. This Tuesday customer number two brags about continuing to attend a gym even though it was supposed to close, Then does the exact same including the grunt.

I am 61 have had 3 heart attacks and a few bouts with pneumonia in the last 15 years bad diet mostly still fairly healthy, Now I have think about sharing bugs.

Shop closed, Don't need it don't want it, And personally have RESPECT for others not to spread it. Even if it is just the flu, I hear this one most frequently " I am off work today because I am SICK and figured I will get some things done since I have the day off cough sniff cough " Your to F__n sick to go to work so you ??? WTF

Here in Missouri our governor is urging people to make good choices...and they're not. Anecdotal evidence suggests from a generational stand point the worst offenders are Gen Z, Lost Generation, and Baby Boomers, in that order. By and large, Xennials, Millenials, and Gen X are sheltering in place.

I've been really torn on this all week. I'm a big believer in the Constitution, and I think we're in for a tremendous amount of heartache if we continue on the way we are.

I say the boomers are the most entitled spoiled people there are. they think nothing of getting a ton of operations knee hip replacements needless surgeries whereas the cost of this is bankrupting the system then when something like this happens it cant handle 10% of it. when I was in Bklyn NY I do not remember one old guy including my 9 uncles and father ever got any shoulder surgery and the other one mile long list of operations done today. all my uncles an old men I knew worked as masons longshoremen carpenters plumbers. I am 67 worked 50 years framing houses roofing and concrete never needed surgery

Dumbest crap so far....

I am real olde & can remember my mom ordering me not to open the light proof window covers at night during WWII when Germanian U boats were less than 20 miles offshore from our house - I complied because I feared the consequences of disobedience and also my grandfather was in the U.S. Merchant Marine.
