Getting supplies

Lord Humongous!
Wasn't he kind of a boy lover?:D
Here in the South we still can food. We have been prepping since 1860. Served us well during the depression and after surviving Reconstruction. I grow my own food, save it this way. I can make fresh eggs last for 6 months. Bread bags, bread ties, plastic grocery bags are saved here out of habit. Think of the 2 zillion uses of a simple grocery bag. Grandmaw taught me well.

No doubt this is a serious virus and should be taken seriously, but kept in perspective. I have read that 1 out of 2 people will get cancer and would be willing to bet that probably 90 % of these will die of cancer. Now, IMO, that is a scary stat .

Additional information to keep the Coronavirus (Covid-19) real threat in the proper perspective:

The Swine Flu
2009 H1N1 Pandemic (H1N1pdm09 virus) in the United States alone

From April 12, 2009 to April 10, 2010, CDC estimated there were:
60.8 million cases (range: 43.3-89.3 million)
274,304 hospitalizations (range: 195,086-402,719)
12,469 deaths (range: 8868-18,306)

Additionally, CDC estimated that 151,700-575,400 people worldwide died from (H1N1)pdm09 virus infection during the first year the virus circulated

This was just 10 years ago, and I cannot remember such a stock market crash, so many school closings, sporting events cancelled, or anything of the sort as we are seeing now with the Wuhan Coronavirus Covid-19.

Perhaps all the measures that are being taken now will prevent this Wuhan Coronavirus Covid-19 from growing into the numbers of the Swine Flu, or even into the numbers of the seasonal Flu, which is contracted by millions of people, and thousands die from it every year?

Just my 2¢

Alex

I copied this from a friend but had to share!

And one more i will say.. the Media is creating the hysteria.. i don't know if it is for ratings or hate.. but it isn't good for anyone to be acting this way..

Some of the video's of morons fighting over toilet paper or whatever is so funny to watch people panicking over a flu like virus but support selling drugs or legalizing drugs that probably do more harm.

The Good News:

Swine Flu: ~61,000,000 (infected) minus ~12,500 (died) = 60,987,500 recovered!

Wuhan Coronavisues Covid-19: Many more people are infected than reported simply because it is not known; most people think they just have the 'flu'. If it is the Wuhan Flu, and they recover, as is usually the case, it is the same as having been vaccinated.

Alex

BTW, during the Swine Flu, the President (Obama) was praised (by the news media) for declaring a state of emergency after 1,000 people had died!

They way the media is hyping this you would think that it was 1918 with the Spanish flu or Europe in the 1350's with the plague. I'm expecting news stories about people heading to the hills and living off grubs and roots any day now.
