Finally got enough sunshine to rebuild my 100 yd target! It has done pretty well for 3yrs but finally gave up when my son was doing a final check before leaving for Phoenix this year. Those heavy 30s at 3K plus will do a number on 3/8 AR500 even on a 45° if you are putting 5 shots into 3/8th of an inch or better. Three years of use actually stretched a pocket into the center of the plate. I cut it loose from the frame and thought I could flatten it back by setting both ends on a 6X6 and driving a big tractor over it, didn't happen, ended up driving a D6 cat up on it and all it would do is straighten it out and when you drove off it would spring back. So I just turned it around backwards and added another plate behind it with 1 inch of play so it can give on impact, I think it will work. The 3 hundred and 6 hundred sleds are far enough out that I haven't had a problem. Kinda important for the damn things to work when you have cattle grazing behind them.
