How close to original dimensions can a duplicate barrel be made?

Do (2) barrels ever shoot the same? My thought is 2 barrels will never shoot exactly the same, but some barrels can get very close to shooting the same with a tuner change or a load adjustment.

This project is more about aesthetics than accuracy it seems.

I can't help but wonder, did we learn anything? Do your stock work after the metal work is complete...….

This barreled action is currently a 5-shot 1/2" MOA shooter. If I didn't care about accuracy I wouldn't have spent hours carefully opening the length of the stock for free-float clearance, nor would I have pillar & glass bedded it. However, I'm NOT building a 6.75 lb Fireball LVSF 22" sporter to be a target rifle either. Yea, I'd love it to stay 1/2" moa, but that's not a prerequisite.

I bought this used LVSF 221 Fireball barreled action without a stock. I removed the j-lock, installed a crisp 1.5 lb trigger, fixed the crown, and put it in a spare Remington H&S stock where I worked up 5 shot 1/2" MOA handloads. Now I've put the barreled action in this 1971 Remington BDL stock for nostalgia (which was my plan all along), because it's like my first BDL stock I owned 45 years ago. I will shoot this .221Fireball until I become bored with it, and then swap the barrel out for a 20 Vartarg. It's Ok with me if the gun's accuracy goes from 1/2" moa in the H&S stock to 3/4"-1" moa in this old walnut BDL stock. It's what I want and can enjoy.
