Just received my Teslong bore scope and have a question

I just received my Teslong bore scope, and looked through a few of my barrels. I have attached a pic of the throat of my Kimber 270wsm. Is this the way it is supposed to look, or what is it telling me? Looks pretty rough all the way around the throat.

Looks like the start of fire cracking. My guess is about 100-150 rounds down the tube. Nothing to worry about right now. That is how barrels wear out. Just like wear on your tires, eventually you have to replace them.

It does look fairly rough, but that's not unexpected. Firecracking and/or residual tooling marks are to be expected. I'm also guessing it has quite a few more rounds down it than only 100-150. Did you clean prior to using the borescope? It doesn't look as though it has been cleaned after you fired it last. You appear to have a nice carbon ring forming at the region starting where the case neck ends (the black stuff that starts after the shiny silver section in the lower right portion of the image). It would be interesting to give it a good cleaning and see if the carbon ring disappears. Nonetheless, I agree with DickE; it looks like expected wear/tear.

What powder are you using?

Nope, that is fire cracking.
Having used flame cutting torches for 50 + years I know a little about what flame cut edges can look like. The heat at that point in the barrel can and does melt steel depending on how soft the steel is and how hot the powder is.

Yes it is from flame, but it is called fire cracking. I use oxygen acetylene torches for cutting carbon steel pipe all the time. He actually has almost no actual erosion and the lands are still sharp. When the throat is truly eroding the lands would be much less defined and rounded.
These 270wsm barrels are not known for long barrel life.

I'd bet it looks pretty good. I follow the lifecycle of every barrel. This area of fire cracking is the first thing to appear. It is on the transition from chamber to throat, its a step down in diameter that really gets blasted.
It's a normal part of the lifecycle of a barrel.

Kidding that looks great, look at your targets forget the bore. My 6mm creed has 1100 rounds through it and the barrel looks like a desert dry river bed but it is still a laser.
