6bra repeater in Rem 700

The ejector in my Rem 700, with the 22BR smacks the neck into the race and dents them out of round. I had to cut some coils off the ejector spring to get it to stop denting the neck. Otherwise it seems to feed and eject cleanly.

Yeah, no. The full size m16 extractor fixes that issue.

I should preface, I have about 7000rds of BR through a Remington 700 using a M16 extractor without issue. It's been a PRS rifle, in every situation I've not had an issue. I've built a lot of 6br repeater PRS rifles that have zero issues with ejection.

Yes... Yes you should have very much Prefaced that video with the Modifications you do to make it work.
I have done the same thing to make mine work. M16 Extractor, Love it.

What does the ejector spring usually like on this little case? Shortened with little force or does it need to be pushed out hard.
Do Defiance actions work okay as a repeater for the 6br?
Edit: Sorry, just saw Evan post about ejector spring tension on second page.

I run an extra power spring, that way the case is forced against the extractor and action until it hits the ejection port.

I have a defiance rebel action cut for the acurracy internationl aw style magazine, m16 extractor in a krg bravo stock/chassis. chambers, extracts and ejects great. The only complaint is the drag and scratches on the case from the right bolt race. this is a dasher
Do you think the ejector spring is too strong, causing the scratches on the case?

Yah I saw that. I don't think the short case really works in the Rem 700 feed ramps.

I have a SS 700 SA 6ppc repeater with a modified follower, mag box and std BDL bottom metal. My rifle has a Sako extractor, and it feeds fine from the mag box and ejects fine. I actually had it for sale here for a spell, but it didn't move.
So.... I'm not doing anything with it at the moment, and if it would help you make up your mind... I'd let you try my BDL setup in your rifle to see if yours will feed your cartridge. The mag box measures about 2.350 inside. If it'd work it should be easy enough to copy with factory 700 stuff . You'd need a milled follower as it needs ground down. All I ask is you cover the ride both ways. Up to you.

I cut a couple of coils off the ejector spring, it helped a little with the scratches but it would not eject the cases, just flip around backward in the action. I think that a VERY slight radius on the front of the right bolt lug raceway might help a lot with the problem.

On the BR cartridges, one issue is the amount that the ejector plunger can extend from the bolt face, I would have to check but I think that it is Greg Tannel who makes one with a modified cross pin groove that lets it extend farther, or you can modify the stock plunger. As part of that same information in other posts, it was mentioned that you do the modification to your plunger you do not want the plunger extending past the end of the bolt. On the spring, I believe that a lower poundage spring is available with smaller gauge wire.

Yea! From the photo on the first post,
I got a 700 build in bra with that exact stock.
Urban rifleman barrel. It's a repeater.
Used formed cushion in bottom of mag well,
With original Adl mag spring. One in chamber
It's a 3 shot.
Mine just worked out that way

Anyone run the 6bra as a repeater in a Rem 700?

I have three 6 br that all feed from the magazines. One had a modified magazine box and Fowler. The other two have factory standard parts. They need to be loaded with cartridge pushed all the way to back of magazine. Sometimes they hang up with longer bullets. The one that is 13.5 twist loads up to 80 grain bullets feeds great. Hope this helps. Tom.

Every action I do gets this spot checked. If sharp it gets deburred especially trued 700’s. If you don’t you’ll almost for sure get those linear scratches in the case. This one is sharp after truing and hasn’t been deburred yet.
