Pet peeves

You ever go into a shoe store and and find a shoe and price you like...only one shoe on display...and then find out the price was for only one shoe? Not gonna happen.

How many people buy one scope ring? I mean, I know it's possible but 60 years ago, when I bought my first pair, I'm not even sure you could buy just one ring. Today you have to be careful and check the picture, cause what you see is what you get. Sometimes you can look all over the site and find no disclaimer. Oughtta be a law!

Oh well; just an old-timer venting.

Gerry

You, or we, brought it on yourself. You, or we, want one ring higher than the other or you, or we, want one four screw and on two screw ring.

Gotta keep up with times.
My guess is your talking about vortex. They have many red dot type optics that mount with only 1 and many light companies only use 1.
I understand where your coming from but it isn't as uncommon as you think when you look at the entire shooting world and not just what we do here.

Pet Peeve.............
AR's at the range without a brass catcher. I carry one with me and have more than once showed the shooter the new-fangled gadget that will enable him to not have to chase down his brass that has been rolling all over the place and under my feet...........I thought that little rant would make me feel a little better..............NOPE....o_O

I am really tire of people who consider pets superior to people. Now we have commercials encouraging women to ignore their family because their pets are so much better. It's all about the money. People who sell pet food, pet products, veterinary supplies, pet insurance, etc push this paradigm and they are getting rich.

Are people more gullible than ever or is this an unintended consequence of the internet--allowing subtle influence of peoples opinions without them knowing it.

Was that enough rant for you?

I would make that into one of those cat memes with the girl screaming at him but we cant do that here

My pet peeve is giants like Amazon, Google, Apple, and Walmart that grow in size until they influence major political decisions, squash the local businesses, provide poor service, and take the money they make off of us to make political statements and influence. My 2020 resolution is that I won't spend a dime with them. I really can live without groceries delivered to my door or next day delivery. And I haven't darkened Walmart's door for 2 months now.

Folks who have convinced themselves that what they own or want is the best and anything else is garbage. Or that the way they do it is the only way and anyone else that does different is wrong.

Yep, there's another board I'm on that resembles that remark.

I guess it all depends on the people you have to deal with day in and day out

Pet Peeve is Range Children: They think someone like their mommy is going to clean up after them. One of my gun clubs is absolutely full of them and a lot of them are old and should know better. Oh, and there's a broom in plain sight ten feet away. By the way, this is all steel 5.56.
