I got another one.

You find an item on gunbroker or other auction site that you like and the vendor/seller has a 10 word description followed by a 6 paragraph rant about what they will or will not do, what they don't care what you think about, don't want any advice from you, and don't even think about doing this or that.

Do they really want to sell the product, or just let you have the honor of bidding on their item?

I owned and operated a small business for 20 years. Customers ran from good, to poor, pain-in-the-ass, slow- pay, no-pay, and downright crooks. Guess what. It gets tough, but it comes with the territory; you deal with it. You don't insult your potential customers.

When I see that I never come back, and wouldn't bid on it if it was the last one in existence.

When people tell you while you are shooting 25-50 yards with a handgun, and they are shooting 5-7 yards, "Oh, you have a long barrel(6 1/2 Blackhawk)", "Oh, you have a scope on it" or "Oh, you are using a laser". When asked if they would like to try it they either decline or their bubble is burst because you still must hold it steady and control the trigger...
Rant over, thanks for listening. What ever happen to just "Hey, nice shooting"?

My pet peeve is w/the current buyers who expects to buy your
PRISTINE sometimes still NIB items for 30to40% less than you paid for
it then expects you to ship it free. I guess I have made a mistake for
years by buying new, when I could have been shooting on

Agreed. And then there's the guy that wins an auction, then calls and wants to dicker about price.

My peeves are idiot drivers who text while driving, tailgaters, the fools doing over the speed limits and zipping around cars in traffic as if they were on the slalom course and their evil twins who do under the speed limit and won't move over to allow you by. Rant off.........

You forgot the ones that drive in the inside lane, no matter whether speeding or poking, but always in your way when you need to prepare for a left hand turn.

Pet Peeves:

1. Guys who walk down range without communicating to other shooters to assure all weapons are clear.

2. Guys who handle weapons when I'm down range - "Oh! it wasn't loaded - just hate that excuse."

3. Guys who set up on a deer stand in front of me at the break of dawn when I've been in place before dawn and won't move when I signal them with my flash light.

4. Guys who attempt to clear a jammed auto pistol by pointing the pistol down the firing line while trying to rack the slide - I don't need to get gut shot at my age.

5. The lost of the great 1" tube diameter scopes like the old Leupold VX2's and 3's with adjustable objectives that worked fine, had simple reticles, and didn't cost a fortune - not all of us need to shoot at 600+ yards.

6. The lost of the old reliable Remington 700's with great triggers, accurate barrels, fine wooded stocks.

7. Rambo's - guys shooting rapid fire obliterating the target stands with their AR's living vicariously as "Navy Seals".

8. A new rifle that as manufacturing defects.

Places like Midway that send you and e-mail that says free shipping on orders over $49.00, and then when you total up your order, you find shipping added to your bill because it was only for certain select items that total more than $49.00.

I am really tire of people who consider pets superior to people. Now we have commercials encouraging women to ignore their family because their pets are so much better. It's all about the money. People who sell pet food, pet products, veterinary supplies, pet insurance, etc push this paradigm and they are getting rich.

Are people more gullible than ever or is this an unintended consequence of the internet--allowing subtle influence of peoples opinions without them knowing it.

Myself and my two children respectfully disagree with your comments. Additionally one of my pet peeves is people that are on the internet at 9:42am on a Saturday morning when they could of been shooting in the match. I would of given you a run for your money today. Cheers Mike

Parents who let their kids behave in the grocery store as if they're the only people there. The kids jump around...and I'm trying to make sure I don't run into them. The worst is when the kids jumps in front of you and blocks your path. Then the parent looks at you with a "Isn't he ADORABLE!?" look.

Oh geez. How about raising your kids to learn to respect people around them......and help them understand they're not the center of the universe.

Yep, and the person who leaves ten car lengths between them and the next car in front of them at the light. Even worse, the ones that don't know there's a sensor in the roadway and sit behind it totally clueless as to why they're not catching the turn light.

Mine is the woman in front of you checking out with two, yes 2 , buggies rounded over with groceries. She was literally pushing one and pulling the other. Then she whoops out a pile of coupons.............then finally pays with a EBT card. She can’t speak English but can count money to the penny. She had $484 of groceries and came unglued when the ebt card didn’t pay it all. She left out with two completely full buggy’s and it cost her $2.85...... and she was pissed!!?!?!! My little half buggy for camping trip was $128?i told the lady ringing us up there is something wrong with this picture. She agreed and rolled her eyes, said you wouldn’t believe what I see.

Mike, Sorry I didn't make it yesterday. I've had a bad cough for 2 weeks. Indeed, I'm spending too much time on the computer when I'd rather be out shooting. I have managed to get to the shop enough to get a couple of jobs out and start my next build (for myself). --Jerry

1) Out of shape beer bellied poseurs that never served in a combat MOS wearing military camo and thinking that their outfit and an AR means they are ready for CWII. I am 56 and bust my ass to stay lean and fit.
2) Man buns, gaged ears, face and neck tattoos, fluorescent colored hair, and the ubiquitous fishing tackle hanging from people's faces.
3) Rude, oblivious anti-destination leaguers who are apparently too dense to understand that the left lane is not where you park yourself at the speed limit while simultaneously matching the pace of the driver in the right lane.

When someone asks a question on a classified ad and the seller answers it in a pm but not on the thread then takes the thread back to the top. I immediately move on from that ad because it appears as if the seller is ignoring the question. Also when the seller deletes the ad so theres no record of selling price for future searches
