Is the17 Mach 2 here to stay?

In my opinion only no. The HMR is much more popular & the HM2 does not work well in semi auto's. That being said, the HM2 is one of my favorite Cartridges & I will continue to shoot them as long as I can find ammo!

I believe you will see the HM2 and the HMR both staying on, many like them for plinking and small game shooting, but having a 17 WRF with a little more punch is also a good one to add and have all three.
Then you can jump up to the 17 Hornets and 17 Fireball for even more punch and distance.

I’m seeing 17 Mach 2 ammo on the shelf. Is this cartridge here to stay?

The HM2 has been around for sixteen years and ammo has pretty much always been marketed by CCI and Hornady since then. Vudoo Gun Works introduced an HM2 bolt action rifle last year. Here to stay? Yes.

I have several hm2’s all bolts and love em. At 100 they will outshoot my hmrs. I can’t remember last time i shot 22 rf

With California going non lead and some other states considering going the same way, I can see where the HM2 with lead free NTX could replace the 22 LR.
