Just Finished, Stock For Next Benchrest Build

I just finished this stock for my upcoming benchrest build. It is Lacewood from tropical South America and the butt is Thuya Burl from Morocco. It features a balsa core, then was cut lengthwise and reglued with carbon fiber between the pieces. I threaded a piece of 7/8" aluminum to act as a dummy barrel, then glass bedded the action. It will be ready to go when it comes back from the gunsmith. The parts are with Mark Penrod, he will install, chamber and crown the Shilen .825 dia. ratchet barrel on a Turbo V1 action and fit the Harrells tuner to the barrel. Can't wait.Lacewood-Thuya Burl, finished, Jan. 11, 2020 (1).JPG Lacewood-Thuya Burl, finished, Jan. 11, 2020 (2).JPG Lacewood-Thuya Burl, finished, Jan. 11, 2020 (3).JPG Lacewood-Thuya Burl, finished, Jan. 11, 2020 (4).JPG Lacewood-Thuya Burl, finished, Jan. 11, 2020.JPG

Do you put any vertical carbon fiber layers?

Great looking stock
What does it weigh?
No vertical carbon fiber layers unless you consider the barrel channel and nose of the stock. Weighs in at 2-1/4 lbs.Cedar Benchrest Rifle Stock, finished, Jan. 11, 2020 (1).JPG
This one is a prototype to see if everything would work, the wood is cedar with interior sections that are hollow and fiberglass cloth laminate. Weighs in at 1-3/4 lbs. This one is bedded for the Turbo V1 and is ready to go, I plan to sell it.
