Xp 100 rifle conversion

These folks would probably be my first inquiry.
http://www.emmacreekgunworks.com/home/xpstocks.htm

I know guys that have his stocks and they are happy with them. He has also donated his stocks to the prize tables.

XPs were a popular rifle conversion years ago but I don't see that many anymore as the custom actions have edged them out. I still see a lot of Specialty Pistols built off the XP action.

Thanks for the replies, I will be rebarreling it with a longer barrel to make it legal. Im looking for basically a drop in model 7 from what I understand need a lot of modifications. I'll check out the Emma Creek.

New member here, I have an xp 100 in 7br I would like to convert to a rifle. I was wondering if anyone is still making rifle stocks for these. Thanks

I did the same this past year. Is this an XP or XP-R.
A model7 may or may not be a drop in. The dog leg bolt stocks are scarce compared to years ago.

I got tired of searching and put up a WTB in several classifieds. I had several offers in a lot less time than I had spent searching.
Ended up a gent bought an XP rifle and was swapping it back to a pistol, made me a decent deal for a stock, trigger and trigger guard.

Lol, my budget el cheapo project ended up around $1100:rolleyes:

Nice stocks but EXPENSIVE!! Do some searching before you jump.
I LOVE my XP 100 converted rifle.
You might check with Joel Russo (russoriflestocks.com). He cuts pistol stocks for the XP so doing a rifle stock in the design of "your choice" wouldn't be a problem and a "drop in" to boot.:D;)

If it was me, I'd place a "want to buy" ad.
Wanted: XP 100 Rifle stock. E.C. Bishop, Harrett or whatever is available. (gunstocksinc.com) E.C. Bishop gun stocks and Reinhart Fajen gun stocks)
Hit everybody.:D

Can't remember who made mine (laminated) but seems like it was around $150.00 or $200.00 at the time. There HAS to be one out there in somebody's stash.;)
You might consider a blank and someone to inlet it for you? Blanks can be had in different flavors. There's a few Guys on here that do stocks so a blank and action could be shipped off to be inletted? Getting excited just thinking about the possibilities.:D;)

Any stock for a bolt action will work if you get it painted. I doubt youll find too many rifle stocks actually inlet for an xp. Mcmillan can do it on a new stock, but any gunsmith can put it in any stock you want.

Mine is a McMillan varmint.
I think it was Russo I contacted and he is out of the business.

I used to see rifle stocks for XP dogleg bolts all the time. I would bet there are several laying around some place.

Had to do a little work on mine. Went with a different recoil lug, no big deal.
The rear screw is a trick as it is tapered and goes down through the top. We put a new pillar in and thread it all the way through. This allowed it to also be used for the trigger guard.
Some thread the tapered hole in the action, but you only end up with maybe 2-3 threads at the most.

Been a while but I think I put in a steel insert, drilled and threaded it so a machine screw went down from the top.
Also had the bolt handle (longer) replaced after the dog leg got bent on a stiff round.

"Very similar to a 600 single shot but some subtle differences".

It's the little differences that count.;)
I HAVE heard the 600 and the XP actions are real close but never seen it to be fact.
If they're that close, just maybe a 600 stock could be fitted for an XP action?? If you've got the time and energy.;)
