Question for 6 SLR loaders...What case lube works best for resizing 243 brass?

You should love it. I am getting mine sorted out but still need some fine tuning. With winchester brass so far is shooting 5 shot groups, 3/8 moa @200, and is probably capable of better with a more experienced pilot.....:)

I did have some neck tension issues with the Alpha brass, even with just .002 it took way to much force to seat bullets.....was even distorting them with a VLD stem. I have annealed, and yes they have been chamfered, even tried some lube but come up with the same issues. I ordered an expander die and some pins, I will work a little more with this brass before shit canning it....LOL

I ordered some winchester brass and even fire forming it shoots the results posted above. Not sure if it is the brass (neck tension), or going to a LRP but it shoots much better with winchester brass. 115 VLD's touch to + .005.

Good luck, I look forward to hearing your updates.

Regarding Neck Tension, it is certainly another dial to turn while adjusting for accuracy. I have migrated to using a mandrel after resizing brass to give me as much consistency as possible. 21st Century has kits with mandrels in varying diameters for finding that Goldilocks "just right" diameter. Another item in the wishlist of reloading gear...

My 6SLR project is now in the break-in phase. Shoot once, clean till no signs of copper, repeat.
I was able to get 8 rounds down range before having to get home to watch MNF.

For these break-in rounds I used 105Gr Amax , sized Remington brass, CCI200s and N160.

1st 4 rounds where loaded light and stepped up. 1 round ea at 40.5, 41.3, 42.2, and 42.8 grains.
Note Vihtavouri book max for 243 with N160 is 42gr. Based on my testing with my original 243, I can load hotter but it still is important to check for pressure signs. 1st round fired at 50 yds then fired next 3 at 100 yds. These rounds were low so I adjusted for zero before starting group testing.

The next 4 rounds were all 42.8 GRs. These rounds started out as touching holes and by the last one it was one larger hole.

I'll get back out tomorrow and finish break in.

What speed were you getting with 42.8gr? 42gr N160 behind a 105gr HVLD does a little over 3130fps in my
Apologies to all for the delay in responding. Took me a little while to find my notes.

for 42.85 gr of N160, CCI-200, Remington Brass, and Hornady AMAX 105 the 4 shot average was 3046 fps with a SD of 12.3

We are long past the initial discussion of this thread for resizing so I'm going to start another thread on my SLR project where I can share what I'm learning. Thanks again to all the support.
