6mm Remington brass through a 6mm SLR resizing die.

I know this is traditionally a .243 to 6mm SLR sizing thing, but could I run the 6mm Remington through the FL SLR die to get to the 30 degree shoulder advantage? Or are the cases too dissimilar? Don't want a 6 Rem AI.

Howdy !

FWIW -The SLR shoulder diam would be around .027" larger than a stock 6mm Remington

The challenge would be to not crush the 6mm Rem case while mechanically forming the 30* shoulder angle on the case.

You can always try out your idea. Keep an eye on the annealing.

I would think they’re to dissimilar but I’m not a SLR guy. I think the easy way would be to sell the REM 6mm brass as it’s hard to find so it’ll sell fast, then buy some good 243 brass.
You are probably, certainly, right.

I've got them both. I wouldn't try it since my neck on slr is .275. Winchester was the only fit in my slr. They are also different parent cartridges. 6mm rem is based on 7x57 which is a long action cartridge. 243 is a 308 family. I might make you a deal on 6 rem brass.

Use Peterson 260 small primer brass and neck turn for consistency and the small primer brass last longer,
