Help me put Together a Neck Turning Shopping List-Bought it!

I've watched about a hunnert video's on this and perused the manufacturers' web sites and I've still a bit confused on what pieces and parts are necessary. (I ain't the sharpest knife in the drawer.). My goal is to put together a list and maybe get a black Friday deal. Here's my situation:
1. I only plan to turn for straight 6BR Lapua brass
2. Not going to take much brass off. My rounds now measure .270 across the neck and I want to get down to .267 or .268. Once I get it set I plan not to change it
3. I need something I can drive with a battery drill or screwdriver.
4. Price matters, but I can't afford to buy junk. Carbide seems to drive a lot of cost. What is the advantage?

Again I'm looking for all the parts and from what maker, excluding measuring tools. A kit would be ideal. Thanks for your help.

21 century lathe depending on your budget. For one handed operation. Mount it to a bench and use one hand on the drill.

Or use any hand held turner (pma is nice) in the other hand, and put a case holder in the drill for 2 handed operation.

I hear ya. When these rifles were chambered apparently a 271-272 was considered "no turn". Now the necks on my brass have gotten thicker.

Yes. K&m makes a better one. Call pma or 21st and tell them what you want to do and they will fix you up.

@HTSmith, get a complete set from the same manufacturer as each component is meant to go together. Like this:

Very reliable set up and the powered unit is much easier on your hands versus the cordless drill.

This is exactly what I was thinking when I read the OP but we all have to try it once. Glad those days are behind me.

Well given I plan, God willing, to have one or more 6BR's the rest of my shooting days I do plan to get my own reamer. Should I get a 273 or 274 neck?

The other thing is I've gotten along just fine without neck turning up until this point. The reason I'm looking into it is that I have a 271 neck 6BR that has started throwing flyers. One of the possible issues I'm chasing is my 4th time loading this brass is giving a measurement of 270 on a loaded round. I can't get a bullet into a fired case. So I'm looking at turning down the necks.

I would just buy some turned .012 brass from DJ brass to last this barrel.
Then buy a good quantity of current brass and a .274nk reamer

As guys are posting there are at least 3 quality neck turners. I have a K&M turner. You get an expander mandrel with it and a case holder with a 1/4" post that you can chuck in an electric drill. I bought a battery powered right angle drill at Sears for about $55. I didn't want a rt angle but that's all I could find locally. You can probably get a nice drill at Harbour Freight or Amazon for $20. i also have a Ball micrometer to measure wall thickness. About $125? total. I cannot see a lathe unless you are doing a huge number of cases.

I have a 21st century lathe I'm getting ready to sell. I use 21st century turners but I've adapted them to my shop lathe. I have a 10 hp neck turner. --Jerry

I like the PMA setup. One of the things I like is the option to get different angle cutters.
I use a 35° cutter for a 6.5 Creedmoor so when I cut into the shoulder I can blend it nicely and this also helps to gauge the depth to cut into the shoulder.
I know bugger all compared to most on here but it seems to works for me.
