It's that time of year. Let's see those kills.

I think better than that, “world class” is the term used. It’s very rare to see a typical this uniform and have 8 each side.

Edit: Just googled it, 209 4/8 green so easily the state record that’s in the 190’s
The hunter was 18 yrs old! There’s hope for us regular guys still!!

The current Pope & Young world record typical scores 204 4/8. I don't think it's gonna lose 5" during the drying time. He probably has the new P & Y world record. The only possible negative for the young man is it's probably not ever going to get better. Or it could be he's off to one hell of a start.

And this kids, is what got me yelled at, cursed at, threatened with bodily harm, & banned from the kitchen by my beautiful Southern Belle.......(something about using one of her favorite stock pots, blah, blah) lol

Nice buck dude! I got busted using the toilet for cleaning my muzzle loader back when I first got married lol... Old man told me that when your young you can f*** your way out of trouble but when you get older you just stay in trouble... next time do it on the fish fryer behind the garage!!

Here’s a much worse story, are you ready?

Once upon a time we came in late from “you know” and my buddy throws a wife’s favorite pot similar to yours on the stove with frozen deer steaks and pinto beans. He turns the burner on full throttle and says these are going to be great in the morning. AROUND 3 hrs later it boils dry and filled the house with smoke from burning deer steaks and beans.... I’m on the couch sleeping and woke to the smell around 5 am but didn’t locate it just yet. After another hour I knew we had a serious problem and found the source.

Then she comes home.... She empties a full can of Lysol trying to get this under control. I got the he’ll out of dodge!!

Went back a week later and it was still bad. Damn, dont ever do that guys!

Lol...Yeah, i bet that smell was etched into the walls for months!

Looked back at the post from last year and it looks like my memory isn't all that good. What the pictures show is a mulie with a whitetail rack and vise versa.

Very nice!

Is that a Rem 700 LTR? What Caliber? How do you like it?

Howdy.
Yes, PSS/LTR in .308 Winchester. Coming up on about 3.5 K rounds but still good enough for Minute of Deer. Wears a Leupold 4.5-14X40 AO target scope.
When we transitioned from the the first gen PSS Preemptive Tactical Marksman rifles to the LTR series, I was so enamored of how handy/accurate they were that I ordered one on Departmental Letterhead.
She has been an absolute joy to own/shoot for many years now.
Looking at glass with better low light transmission in the near future.

He’s no match for some of the brutes, posted in this thread, but here’s my second ever archery buck from Carrol Ct Ohio. Next up is the PA firearms season, which kicks off the Saturday after thanksgiving.

Brother, any Game Animal with a Bow is a Trophy!
My Brother took a 3 1/2 yr old Gobbler with his bow in the Fall at Ft. Campbell, KY, when he was stationed there.
He has taken many Deer, and Turkeys since with black powder and modern firearms/handguns, but he is most proud of that Tom. A remarkable feat to outwit a Turkey.

Helped a buddy of mine last week on a Coues hunt. His boy Ben, try as he might can't seem to pull a youth tag but was able to snag a leftover tag down in one of the border units. This was probably one of the funnest hunts I have been on for a long time. We were able to find this small buck first thing opening morning and set up for a shot across a canyon at 521 yards. I laid Ben down behind the 6XC and dialed the range on the scope. Ben made a perfect shot and his first Coues buck hit the dirt. It was a special hunt, I don't think I have seen a kid more happy and a dad more proud.

shot this one with my bow last saturday morning. followed him thru the binos all the way up looking at his horns thinking, he's big, but he's only a 7ptr. I figured the the 10x binos were making him look much larger than he actually was, so I put them away. at this point he was right below me. he turned his head, and I could see how big his body was and how wide his rack was instead of just a side view. there were several expletives that came out, as there was no hesitation on the fact he was a shooter buck, 7 points or not. I had to wait a minute or two for him to turn as he had worked right below me. I put a quartering away shot on him, hit him halfway back and up, but exited the far shoulder low. he ran up the hill about 10 yards and turned to go back the way he came. he died 42 yards from the treestand. It is the largest body deer I have every killed, he field dressed 188#, rack was 22 5/8" outside. With a bow to top it off! talk about flipping out when I got down to look at him!! There was no ground shrinkage on him, I was pretty stoked. i had to make a few calls to borrow a 4wheeler from a friend. I spent most of the morning looking at him thru the binos from the tree hoping something else would come by. It was not fun dragging him to where I could get a 4wheeler too, or loading him, but it was worth every sore muscle! IMG_5675 - Copy.JPG
