GUN CASE FOAM.

For only $50-$60, Amazon has the GOOD Pelican foam. Pack consists of 3 pieces. Use what you need to keep the rest for the next time you need it. This is what I got earlier in the year.

You can buy a case with the foam in it for that much off of eBay. If I was buying a thicker [say >5"] case I'd be asking about the foam before I bought.

Any issue with the foam damaging the guns or didn't you keep them in it long enough to find out? My case can hold 2, but I'll probably just use it for 1.

The guns were in the case off and on for about 6days on a prairie dog hunt. I wiped them down before and after stowing them. I didn’t see any effects from the Balistol that I used.
Took the foam out of the case when I got home and let it air out. Then rolled it up.
Wish I could go more often so I could give a better report. I am working on that for next year ;-).

Personally if you have the time, I'd go with the pluck foam. Can kinda customize it for a couple guns. Even if it's a close match, it works since the top foam covers it and won't let it move much. The foam will keep the rifles protected and from moving if it's recessed.

Any idea where a fella can get that kind of foam?

I hate heavy cases....If it has wheels I look else where....
Champion choice has a super thick soft case that can be carried like a back pack or normal with handle.
I have it. Only problem I have is it is cloth & gets dirty
I've purchased alot of foam from the foam factory. Shipping is free if the purchase above a certain price. I've also picked up foam from the factory before they moved there business. Good company to deal with.
I don't know what type out of all the close cell types to get.

I find the pick N pluck stuff tends to start falling apart with use. Handy for the initial setup; not so much in the long run.

I'll agree. I kept my duty gun (Glock) in a pluck foam case and it got alot of use. It did start getting crappy after a while. Guess it would depend on how much use it actually got. I think heat cutting straight foam to the exact spec of the rifle is the best approach.

That's why I suggest Kaizen foam.

If you want easy to customize, check out the YouTube videos.

The price isn't bad if you have several projects because shipping is free for $100 orders, otherwise I think you can order individual sheets through Home Depot that will be drop shipped to the store. Not as fast but also free shipping to the store last time I checked.
