I tried a Horrible Freight hot knife. Results were not good.

I use an OLFA utility knife (snap-off, thin blade.) A new sharp blade makes a pretty big difference.

For the pick-and-pluck garbage, I've seen some people configure it, then spray it with Plasti-Dip or bed liner or some other rubber spray type stuff to keep it from falling apart.

Here is my cz527 in 204R and my 20 Tac. I used that Amazon wire foam cutter I used to cut out the foam for the rifles

I would suggest that anyone using a “Hot Knife” to cut foam/plastic to do it outside and wear some breathing protection… The fumes will not be good for your lungs!
