2000MR Loads for 6BR?

Because of the recurring shortage of Varget, does anyone have recommended loads with this powder for 105/107 gr bullets?

I've got about 9# of it. I was going to try to run it in my 6.5x47L a few years ago. Hangfires made me abandon that project. Give it a try in your 6BR & let us know. Would be nice to find a use for it. It would last me 5 lifetimes in heavy bullet .223 reloads for gas guns - unless my interests change (again). I just hardly shoot them any more.

I shot the 2016 IBS 1,000 Yard Nationals with 2000MR in my 6 Dasher.
Small group of the match and 4th in LG Group.
I do think it would work but I can tell you it is not receptive to temp swings at all.

If you do find 2000MR to be a good candidate, let me know. I've got like 15 lbs of the stuff. Probably a fuzz slow, but man it'd be nice if it worked for BR cases

30.5 of RL15 with Rem BR primer and 105RDF looks good.

I guess it's too big of a powder column of tough to ignite powder for a small primer. It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure I had some rounds where the powder didn't ignite at all. I was using 450s. I was going to try 7-1/2s, as I read somewhere that they were the hottest of the SRM. I never got around to it. Again - this was in a 6.5x47, not a 6BR.

Yes, 6.5 x 47. I fired about 1400 rounds this year through 6.5 x 47 and Varget. Used mostly 205m but tried numerous other primers. Never a hang fire. Varget was not the problem. Perhaps yours was contaminated in some way. I started with H4350 but mediocre accuracy and velocity led me to try Varget. With 140 class bullets gained almost 100 fps and accuracy was much better. Maybe try some new Varget from a new source.

I think he was talking about 2000mr doing the hang fires.

Tubb uses the Remington primer in 6xc with 4350 and small primers and he said it fixed all the not being hot enough.

Yes. 2000MR gave the hang fires. Never had that problem with Varget, H4350, H4985.

I was using Peterson SRP brass in a 22 Creedmoor recently and had hangfires with a ball powder...I think it was 4000MR. I drilled out the small flashhole to .080 and problem disappeared. I tried both Rem 7 1/2's and CCI Mag SRP and both didn't have enough heat to reliably ignite that stuff through a .060" flashhole.

I abandoned H4895 in a Dasher, was like trying to fix a bad girl friend. Went to R15, that went down the road also.

Also, shoot 7 1/2's with formed Lapua brass in the 6 XC using H4350, never a problem and they grouped a lot better than 450's.

Start at 34.5 or so with 105 - 108 gr. bullets. Have a good time picking a node! The linearity exhibited by this powder is something to see and just about everything looked good when I did my work-up. 35.1, 35.5 and 35.9 grs. all shot very small with Berger 105 gr. Hybrids and HVLDs. I picked 35.5 because the group POI was just coming up from the bottom out of my barrel. Love the stuff.

PS. Best to use a drop tube above 35 grains. It is pretty bulky powder compared to others commonly used in the Dasher.
