Absolute best scope to resolve bullet holes at 600 yards?

Sam,

I should have included in my post that I have owned or still own(for use in 1000 yard benchrest)...12-42×56 nf br, 15-55 nf comp, march 8-80, march 10-60×52, march 10-60×56 highmaster, march 40-60 ep zoom highmaster, kahles 10-50, vortex 10-60 golden eagle, schmidt and bender 12-50, sightron 10-60 svssed. They say we shouldn't say anything if we don't have anything nice to say, so I'm going to just leave this here and not edit my first post ;).

Valada Terminator
I have not shot my Terminator enough yet to say if it is the end all, do all scope. I do like it very much and have been asked by a couple of guys if I would sell it. I can say this without question. It performed perfectly in Montana in June on my Cheytac. We started at 1760 yards and then went to 2500 yards. At 2500 there was a white spot on a butte. I could pick out a what appeared to be a mouse hole (maybe 4 inches round) and was able to put the dot right on that hole. The Cheytac put shot after shot from one to three feet from the hole. My NF BEAST MOAR floating cross hair would have covered up the hole. We were going to shoot it 3000 yards the next day but high winds canceled the attempt. Danny Huffines had a 338 Lapua Improved and he also had a Terminator mounted on it. He loves his and the 338 performed flawlessly to 2500 yards.
I also have tried the Terminator on a Bat BRX up to 800 yards and love it. The Terminator will stay in the stable with my March 10-60 & 8-80 both with the MTR-2 with 1/16 floating dot. I am very partial to floating dots and the Terminator come through in that respect.
BART the HAMMER can fix you up with a Terminator!!!! Bart is about 90 minutes from the DOME and when he told me he had one I drove up to his house to take a look see and had to have one.

I took delivery of this March Genesis about 10 days ago. Shot 800 yd with it Saturday on a Panda Dasher. First impression is good. I know I will like it on the Cheytac for ELR because it has 400 MOA built in the scope turret itself with no help from rails or Rings.
Reticle remains opticly centered at all dialed in ranges. The scope itself moves up and down in the rectangular box.
The reticle pic is taken at a bad time of day. Looking into the sun. But the top of that cooling tower is 3117 yards away. You can see several buzzards sitting on the top rail. And one buzzard is circling.

Well, yes, that is the price you pay for a FFP scope -- fatter reticle lines. But from photos of the Terminator reticle (which is 2FP) it appears Nightforce's precision 2FP reticles (like the MOAR-T on the ATACR and the FCR-1 on the Competition) are considerably finer than the Terminator's.

I'd love to see and shoot a Terminator, but until I do I will keep buying Nightforces, which I know are absolutely worth every dollar they cost me.

The reticle photo I posted were not the Terminator. They were the F1 March Genesis.
I am well pleased with the small dot size in the Terminator

The Beast does not offer the MOAR-T because the crosshair will be too fine at the low power setting. I love the MOAR-T in my ACTAR. Not to fat at all.
I called Night Force and asked if they would put the MOAR-T in my BEAST and they said they would not because the fine crosshair would disappear at the low power settings.
I too will be keeping my NF's. I have two NXS 8-32 DD's, a ACTAR 5-25 MOAR-T, and a BEAST MOAR

I was going by a photo/video of the Terminator reticle I found on the Internet, not your photo.

The MOAR-T lines in the ATACR subtend .0625 MOA. What do the Terminator's measure? They look closer to .1 MOA to me, perhaps even larger.

For fine, precision work off a bench I much prefer 2FP scopes with very fine reticles -- much finer than the Terminator's, which look close to MOAR to me.

I agree. 2nd focal plane for fine paper punching

I appreciate threads like this. I have read 2 threads today and been able to put a half dozen people on ignore as a result ... will save me from wading through BS next time :)

Great idea Jason if you get enough people on ignore it really cleans up some of these threads!
