25 CRD load data

I'm loading 85 - 110 gr bullets in a 10 twist....wouldn't the load data from the 250 Ackley Improved be just about right on the money?

Maybe if we knew what the cartridge was we could lend a hand. I try to keep up with the major new cartridges but now every gunsmith wants his own wildcat or so it seems.

Post a picture of the case and loaded cartridge, tell us the case capacity with H2O up to the top of the neck, the case OAL and the cartridge OAL.:)

I'm assuming that it's a 25 Creedmoor. If no one has load data, you could try starting at the bottom loads available for a 6 Creedmoor in the same weight and work up.

Yes it is 25 creedmoor, uses 250 savage cases fireformed or 6mm creedmoor cases resized neck.

25 creedmoor can be loaded to slightly higher pressures than the 250ai.
So you can use middle of the road 250ai data as a starting point.

I should rephrase what I wrote...

250ai data doesn't reach as high pressure as creedmoor data.

Thanks, that's what I needed to know.

The 250 Savage and the Ackley version of that cartridge are held to a SAAMI spec chamber pressure of 52,990 PSI. This is to prevent possible damage to a rifle and shooter when loaded in the lower pressure rifles such as the original Savage 99. It's no different than the .45-70 loads for weaker or stronger actions or the .30-40 Krag Jorgensen loads for weaker actions.

Just been following the thread and was wondering if the case volume is close between the 257AI and the 6CM ? I assume it must be, other wise, the Ackley data wouldn't work...
Thanks John

Never mind I reread the thread and saw you were using the 250 Savage not the 257 Rob AI. Had a long day, kinda slow....
