How far apart do you find 223 nodes with 53g Sierra Match Kings ?

Just curious how far apart are the small group nodes found in grains of powder when reloading 223 with 53 grain Sierra Match Kings. I'm thinking I'm seeing them around .6 grains apart, example... a good node at 23.8 then the next one is 24.4 grains of powder. I'm using Starline brass and IMR 4320 (because I have lots of it on hand).....Just a general question for the experts reloading 223 ..... Thanks HB

I use them in 100 yard XTC reduced course matches and was wondering about a node lower than the typical 23.8 node. Has anyone looked into that?

I shoot 52 smk and with w748 I had a solid node at 25.4 and the next at 26.6

I never chronographed this loading session, nor the final load since it's a short range load.

Edit: to add, I'd think imr4320 might be too slow for 52/53/55 grainers.

You will not get enough in the case to get decent velocity. But if your ok with slower fps than that's up to you.

What increments are you using ,and where did you start and finish ? What do the groups look like ?

Increments of .2 gr. started at 23.4 and ran up to 24.8 which I think was starting another node maybe at 25.0 gr. Have reshot 23.8 and 24.4 some more and think it is indeed a node now. Will try 25.0 another .6 gr up the scale to see if it works out too. I was just wondering if someone else finds 223 nodes about .6 gr apart in the powder charges...Thanks.

333 I bet there's a node you missed at 26.0 from what I'm seeing, but I'm still learning precision 223 facts.I'm just trying to use up a bunch of 4320 I have on hand. BUNCH. Ha.Some where I read someone was winning benchrest 223 events (OLD book) with smaller charge than others, so thought what the heck I'd try and see how it works for small groups.
Thanks for your input guys.. HB

Looking good, I usually do .3 increments and find nodes vary with powder ,etc . . I just tested with VV N133 and 52 grain Bergers , my accuracy node was 2 grains wide .All small groups with no real diffrence . My gun seems to love that powder/bullet combo.

I think nodes will be different with different powders.

I definitely did not miss a node at 26.0 gr w748...
