6.5 BR AI ???

I found a 6 Dasher at the range one day and kept it in my treasure box. After some months I got it out and thought about making a 6.5. So I made up a dummy and sent it to JGS for a reamer. Meanwhile I ordered Lapua brass, a hydro former, bullets, chassis and scope. When all was done I had a 6.5 Dasher in a 26" Bartlein 5R heavy palma on a Howa 1500 action mounted to an MDT ESS chassis sporting an Athlon Cronus 4.5-29X56. Since these things take time I am just now going through load workup. Initial results are encouraging to say the least. With Sierra 123 MKs ahead of CFE 223 I am recording 2975 fps (MagnetoSpeed) and half moa at 200 yds. This is my max load and am doing ladder tests with lesser velocity and different propellant. But I am happy so far. It is a sweet little Grendel killer and is easy on this old man's shoulder. I look forward to doing some long range shooting later this summer. I say go for it. Build something no one else has. BTW if you don't have it already, get QuickLoad. It takes a lot out of the guess factor.

I've mulled over the idea of a 25 BRA with the 131gr blackjack bullet. Even at only 2700 fps it would be very capable ballistically.

25 BR will run 2760 in 26" barrel.

We have 10 25 BRA reamers coming in the fall as well as 25 GT reamers later this year. Nearly unnoticeable recoil and great hit % on steel comparing them to other popular low-recoil competition cartridges.

Sorry for the long lag, it’s been a very busy summer competing. Got rounds loaded yesterday heading to range today to break in barrel and fire form brass. I will be fire forming with 28 grains of Varget. Hopefully I’ll have some good groups to share.

108 lapua scenar, no speed data only fire forming brass. I gave up my idea of this cartridge last year to a smith with unlimited access to barrels he tried 123's and a higher grain with not a good out come at a 1000.
So i decided to drop the coin and have my own reamer and go gauge built specifically for the 108. Hopefully I'll be shooting it in a couple weeks at 600 in a match with some more updates
