LabRadar Recommendations

Here's my setup...............my main criticism is the use of a micro USB socket on the Labradar body. This is VERY flimsy.............
Also, the provision of a remote control would be useful, especially for prone shooters. I've bodged up a couple of extra long camera shutter release cables to operate the power on and arming buttons. The mini tripod (Velbon Ultramax mini D) is good for flat or uneven surfaces, more practical than that square chunk of orange aluminium.
The Imuto x6l Powerpack is excellent and lasts for 3 or 4 x 4hour sessions.labrad.jpg
Dunno why the pic has come out like this..............should I have chosen thumbnail?

A piece of aluminium with a couple of stamped metal front sight elements inside..........from an Anschutz Match 54 I have.
I had a lot of trouble getting the thing to work when I first got it, and this let me eliminate alignment errors.(mostly)

I know this is an old thread, but wanted to provide some commentary regarding getting the unit to trigger. At my 'home range' I don't have enough real estate on the bench to appropriately position the LR so it'll trigger on a 30" barrel in the traditional manner; normally this would render the LR useless.

I came across a JLK 'recoil trigger' mentioned on some other forums, and figured for $35 it's worth a shot. For those that are having similar issues with getting the unit to trigger, I would STRONGLY recommend you look into one.

You basically just have to attach or hang the sensor on your rifle somehow (I velcro mine to the stock or scope), and it'll trigger the unit every time the rifle is fired. It plugs into the 3.5mm jack directly above the mini-USB port on the LR.

There are some downsides; the sensor is ultra sensitive, and on some stiffer actions will cause the LR to trigger when you cycle the bolt. That said, in the event of a 'false trigger' either displays a message that it can't read the shot, or it'll read something down range at an obscure velocity (easy to detect/delete).

This allows you to place the LR anywhere you want in relation to the rifle (so long as it's aimed properly), and it works the same for suppressed/suppressed configs too.

I don't work for them, nor am I affiliated with them in any way, but figured I'd post something about it so those that were having issues getting the LR to trigger could get it to work 100% of the time.

Edit: Hah, didn't realize I was the OP. Followup:

The Arko base is awesome...the LR with the recoil trigger is unbeatable...and way better than my Magneto speed setup.

This is an old thread and I've been scouring the forums to find tips on using the Labradar that I just ordered. I too ordered the JLK switch and picked up a tip on another forum to select the trigger sensitivity to 4 while using the switch and you won't get a false trigger while closing the bolt. I haven't used mine yet but thought I'd pass the tip along.
