Change the HP Rules and separate the Mid-Range Nationals from the Long Range Nationals.

It wasn’t the shooters that wanted them run together. The shooters voted that they didn’t want the Camp Perry format for midrange. It was the nra that decided that a club should hold both.

Atterberry is an interesting option, but:

Is the club there prepared for or even interested in making the effort to run a the FCNC?
Is the range capable of handling some 275 to 400 shooters? I seem to recall that there isn't a range there big enough for that many, though I have read that the state Guard has or is planning to make some improvements.

I know they have run the NRA championships, but that's less than half the shooters.

Would you or your club volunteer to run nationals for two weeks? Do you have the manpower to run a two week match?

I only have so much leave at work to take off to run matches. Why would I use my all vacation time to run a match where people are just going to criticise you and your club on how the match was ran? It's easier to get volunteers and workers to commit to one week vs two.

I saw the suggestion in a different light. I thought the suggestion of splitting might be splitting both timing and location.

Rather than have one club try to accommodate 400 of mixed class, have 2 ranges each run separate events.

It would, initially, make more clubs viable in light of the shorter firing line required. I don't think that would last long, and we would see 2 huge events.

Entries are already limited.

With the exception of the BSWN, (not a national championship) the entry limits are not usually met.

Doesn’t matter. Their is limited entries for every match. Wether met or not
