Whats the weirdest headstamp you have ever seen?

I was segregating 223 range brass and came across something I had never seen. 223 brass headstamped with the Gorilla brand. Have you ever shoot Gorilla ammo?

The Browning buckmark on ammo is often seriously confusing, looking like some Arabic or Hindi script, unless you know what you are looking at.

Some of that crazy stuff from Korea and Russia has really weird stamps, at least weird for Ohio anyway.

Hmmm??? I have have some Gorilla ammo in .308 and the headstamp is simply the same as one sees with Federal brass (yes, it's Federal brass).

I found some brass at the range that had really weird writing on it! It looked like Cyrillic or Hindu or Arabic! I was stumped. I searched and searched, to no avail! Then one day, I picked it up and looked at it. I finally saw what it was! The outline of a deer head!

Military orders on shotgun loads were usually sans headstamps by contract.

In the 80's an acquaintance who was a retired ATF agent would buy large quantities of once fired brass from the government for resale to shooters. On a trip to his place to purchase some brass he showed me two non head stamped 7MM Remington Magnum cases. They were in a lot of four 55gal drums of mixed brass he picked up at the Glynco Ga. training center for the Secret Service. Allegedly for use by counter snipers when in other countries. I do know that he was told to bring them back on his next trip.

It's been over a year since I bought mine and was curious as to just how well it might do. Well . . . they didn't really do any better for me than Federal's premium match loads, and my hand loads proved far better. So . . . I've not been inclined to use any more since (it was a matter of a test anyway).

Are you sure it didn't say 7.92x33 ???

I second the no headstamp, but it was at a match where someone was showing his fired case off to people and talking about his load caused it to erase the head stamp from the case. Can you imagine how much pressure it takes to do that??

RO/MD made him quit for the day.

Makes perfect sense to me. Just know what I was told, did see the brass but have no first hand knowledge of its origin or actual reason for existing.

Yes. Some 223 I believe with some 69 gr SMKs. I probably still have a box or two. None of my ARs have shot that bullet well, but they all like the 77 gr.

The brass I was sorting to reload will be 69 grain matchkings. I don't think my 9 twist will stabilize 77gr bullets. But the 73 grain Bergers shoot good.
