Service Rifle Scope Mount

I recently acquired an Athlon Helos BTR for Service Rifle purposes. Any recommendations on mounts, either rings or one-piece? It's a 30mm tube.

I'd like to keep price under $150, if at all possible. I don't need tool-less Quick-Detach, but not having to disassemble the entire mount to take it on and off is a requirement, as I plan to swap this between a couple guns at least for a little while.

How much have the scores dropped since allowing scopes on service rifles? Seems like they should but i only shoot service rifle at the club level and im not running a scope.

Dropped??? Not at my club. 487 gets you leather in an EIC.

I like my YHM, except the cross bolts gill and become permanent locked.

Interesting: I don't recall that being an issue on mine. Is it when you take them on and off? The other rifle I would be swapping between already has a decent rail on it (it's an Eliseo tubegun), so I could just pull the Burris rings off and leave the risers if that's the concern.

1st and foremost:
whatever you buy / use needs to fit you properly for height and must get far enough forward for the scope you are using for proper eye relief. You could buy a $300+ Geisselle mount and if it doesn't fit you and your scope properly you will never be able to shoot to your potential with it.

We all have different shaped faces, bodies and positions.

There is no one size fits all for this item.

The Best thing to do if possible:
Is try out rifles of fellow competitors at your club by holding it in offhand, sitting and prone to see how what they are using fits you for height. If they happen to be using the same scope as you all the better because you can check for proper eye relief as well. You do not have to do any live fire for this basic test. Sure beats ordering something or a combination of things to try that may or may not fit you or your scope.

Best if they are using the same buttstock as you as well.
UBR Gen 1, Gen 2 or standard A2 all have a slight effect on scope mount fit.

All mine are like the PTG Mount but were from Keystone when John was selling them.
I prefer one piece mounts if the height fits you properly. Less things to potentially come loose.

Whatever you choose / install I highly recommend using VC3 Vibra-tite on all screws and using a torque wrench to set the proper inch pound settings

Better than Loctite (IMO) as things stay put just as good but you can also remove and re-install a few times without having to clean up and re-apply.

Yes, I probably put it on too tight. But when I went to take it off, the cross bolts wouldn’t budge and stripped the bolt heads. Not a big deal, it just lives on that gun now.

As stated above the ptg Mount is nice, it’s the same one John scandale used to sell at Keystone. Ptg was making them for him.
It is the best option to get the scope the lowest you can. I think it’s 1.300 above the receiver.
Next is the white oak 10 moa rail and tpr low rings , which is what I use , which gives you 1.330. This is the best option for me, the fatness of my cheeks, and my body type. I recommend this option because you can adjust the height to suit you by simply changing ring height.

That makes a ton of sense: I do it for all my other rifle stuff, no reason I shouldn't do it here! I had the opportunity to try a couple different scopes/mounts at our last EIC match (which was how I landed on the Athlon). I have plenty of pictures from that match, so I'll see what I can figure out from those.

For my needs, I believe the rail + rings will serve me the best. Things coming loose is always a risk, but torque checks are part of my pre-match routine now (since I've been burned before), and the rail + rings combo will give me the flexibility that I require for now. Once I get dedicated glass for each gun, I will revisit as needed.
