Bushing help 300 wsm

I need to order my die and bushing for a new 300 wsm build. What size bushings are you guys using with a no turn neck and Norma brass?

With a no-turn neck, I would still suggest you turn it a bit just to uniform it. After that, seat one of the bullets you are planning to use then measure the neck. Determine from that number where you want to be with neck tension and get a few on either side of that for load development and different bullets going forward......Best of luck.

Rick

Neck turning sucks. If you can seat a bullet in a new case you can order a bushing .002 or .003 below the loaded round dimensions. I usually go .003" that gives good grip for hunting rounds.

Don't waste time turning

Wooten - I know you are a long-range BR shooter so I take your words with more than a "grain of salt" -
Have you done actual comparison testing of No-Turn verses Neck-Turned in the 300 WSM ?

I can't say as the 4 guns in WSM I'm shooting are all 0.3395 necks so I'm turning to 0.0140 then a skim pass to bring thickness to 0.0138. (Norma Brass on all) - My personal feelings are there are some gains to be made neck turning as not all batches of brass are "created equal" in that some I've found some significant neck thickness variations which would surely create varying neck tension if loaded as a No-turn.

When I started shooting the WSM - I shot a turn neck chamber (.337 NK). Shot it for a few years, and have just recently switched to a no turn chamber (.343 NK). I have seen no reason to ever make me go back to turning. I will not sit here and say my groups are smaller because I quit turning, but they certainly aren't any bigger. "TO ME" turning was just an extra step, that I was able to eliminate without seeing any negative effects.
