California gun laws and Accurate Shooting

This thread should have been deleted a long time ago. Childish way? You and jimt must be the same person. You truly need to look at what is going on in this nation. I wonder what world you live in where it is childish to just give up rights. Giving up rights for anything never turned out for the better.

The only person I have ever meet in real life who thought giving up rights was a good ides was defiantly a beta male. You sound just like him.

I guess for you and jimt "long live the crown?" or some BS like that.

Yawn

The 2nd Amendment has been going downhill since 1934 and the NFA. Ironic, it was enacted due to the criminal element, the same reasons as today and just as ineffective.

"...Ironic, it was enacted due to the criminal element,..."

No, that was the EXCUSE used to pass it. It was passed as a People Control measure. Criminals don't obey Gun Control laws, do they? So Gun Control isn't EVER about crime OR criminals. It is ALWAYS about controlling YOU and ME.

Period.

Re: ammo,

I suspect the California Legislature just created a HUGE population of new reloading enthusiasts. I predict tons and tons of loading supplies being demanded at local retailers and shipped in by common carrier.

That is until the Legislature realizes there is a... nope, ain't gonna say it.

Two of the three Walmarts in my town(northern LA County) quit selling ammunition, I have not been to the 3rd one yet so I don't know if they do anymore.

Was just at my local FFL who said Walmart(and many others) probably won't sell ammo any longer as everyone who handles/rings up the ammo has to be a COE(certified something or other that maintains a $122/year certification ensuring they have a clean record). The COE has to do the background check so he has to be on duty or you can't buy ammo. I'm not sure how long employees stay at Walmart but I think the turnover is pretty high, seems unlikely they will invest the added cost.

Walmart in California had previously announced they were shutting down ammo sales for a few weeks to get up and running under the new laws. I think it was supposed to be 2 weeks, but they kicked it up to 3 after the SNAFU's that happened on July 1.

I'm not saying you are wrong about your local stores permanently ditching ammo, but they all stopped for a while.

I just bought pistol ammo at Big 5 yesterday. Just showed my Real ID filled out a short form. No problems. I had to pay $1.00 for the instant check. Ill try Walmart tomorrow. Don't bother sending flaming ninja arrows my way I'm already toast. Mike

Also I talked to a young girl at Border Tactical. She said they are accepting online orders from customers to there FFL for a small fee. She didn't know how much. I'll find out. Mike.

The other two quit selling it about 6 months ago when the online ammo ban kicked in.
Forgot to mention the FFL said he has to write down all info of the ammo; caliber, cartridge, grains, FPS, and a ton of other stuff. Not a big deal if you're buying a box or two or a ton of the same kind but if you buy 5 boxes of different stuff it's huge pain, especially if you don't type fast.

meanwhile, in other california news:

"" Berkeley's municipal code will no longer feature words like "manhole" and "manpower," and instead say, "maintenance hole" and "human effort" or "workforce." The measure passed unanimously Tuesday and replaces more than two dozen terms.

Gender-specific references to job titles, like "policeman" and "craftsmen," will also be changed in the code, to "police officer" and "craftspeople" or "artisans." ""

luckily they are occasionally distracted from the firearms debate.

Omg...what a crock of crap

Well out of curiosity I went by the 3rd Walmart to see if they still had ammo (I get the 4 pack of 20 gauge shells for ~$20 for Thursday night skeet shooting) and to my delight they were up and running doing the background checks and selling ammo !!
They also had more ammo than I have seen in years.... pretty sure we can thank MAGA for that.

Does this post count as a win considering the circumstances?

"precision" rifles are next on the list. Nobody needs one of those 1000 yard "Sniper Rifles".
I went to lunch today, and stopped on my way back home here in Idaho at my local gun shop. I bought two 30 round Mag-Pul magazines for my detachable magazine AR-15; and two 33 round Glock factory magazines for my 17. Paid cash, and walked out the door. I buy Laser-Cast 124gr lead bullets to load for my Glock and AR in 9mm.

Oh yeah, also bought a box of 32 Colt Short RN lead ammunition for my wife's snubby.

In California, either go thru the process to buy loaded factory ammo, background check, paperwork, etc. OR roll your own. Just as easy as that.
You could also do a road trip to another state, buy ammo, PAY CASH and be on your way? Not too many other choices is there?

Why do you need any of that? Think of the children, man, the children!!
