California gun laws and Accurate Shooting

Don't despair, California is due for the big one soon. This will put them into the pacific ocean. At least the cities that are so anti-gun. Problem will be solved and I won't miss Miss Nancy and Walters one bit.

Exactly, I should have been more clear. Here in East California, the State Department of Political Correctness, Diversity, and All Inclusiveness will first whack your peepee for being naughty then do their best to run you out of business.

What does erk's me about all these new regulations is that they do nothing to stop the criminal, they don't follow them anyway, black market and theft still is there way. Liberal politicians, in CA or elsewhere, hardly even pretend that it is their intent to stop crime with gun control. They are starting to admit that they want an unarmed public. Don't think they don't. But that isn't a California issue.
 
This kind of takes us back to the NRA unrest. I still donate but as just one punny little guy living in the California desert what can I do. Vote haha, leave not a option. In my opinion shooting sports are are going to fade away from America. Thankfully I'm old and will die soon. I feel for the younger generation. In the mean time I'm going to the range tomorrow. Mike.

To my point earlier, you can not only have concern in what affects you. Every move is a wedge.
2A was not written in subsections, to sporting, defense, hunting, or whatever.
Greasy politicians can not be abled to chip away at it, as such, because the "newest ban" doesn't apply to your interests.
Be it bump stocks, extended magazines, suppressors, ammo..., whatever, the 2A gives the right to keep and bear arms, and not Congress to decide How Much.

I missed the memo you are the ignorance police. Just makes me wonder what made you get up and say let me educate the rest of this site today. Great thing about this country is we don’t have to use your definition of ignorance. You can choose to deal with whoever you want.

Well dean, I've always been big on education. But in this case, the ignorance results in prejudice against good American gun owners in CA. If you don't support gun ownership in California, then I have nothing for you. --Jerry

When it happens I'm going to live on the east coast. Of California! Bet my property value got way up.
 
Would someone please clarify this for me? The way I understand it, a calif. Resident cannot go out of state and buy ammo and bring it back into the state. Can a non-resident, (competitive shooter or hunter) legally bring in all the ammo he wants into the state for his own use or does he have to buy his ammo in the state? Thanks, Dan

How would anyone know??
 
I haven't bought any ammo since the new laws and I have no plan to buy any. To buy ammo now, you have to pay $1 for an "eligability check". It isn't really a background check, it just confirms you aren't on a list of prohibited people. If you've ever bought a firearm in CA, and haven't committed a crime since then, you aren't on the list. If you buy a lot of ammo, for $19 you can buy a card that keeps them from charging you the $1 surcharge.

You can't legally buy ammo in another state and bring it back. There is no customs station at the border, however.

If you mail order ammo, then it has to be sent to an ffl or registered ammo dealer. There are several ffls that do this for free to get you in their store. There are some that charge a stiff fee.

Ammo does not have serial numbers on it. Think about that.

As I said above, none of this applies to reloading components. Powder, primers, brass and bullets ship directly to your home.

I don't understand why rimfire shooters and shotgun shooters are having problems getting ammo? As I understand it they just have to have it shipped to an FFL. Are sellers unwilling to ship to an FFL?

As a Californian, My observation is: There is a huge number of gun owners here, tons of competitive shooters, tons of hunters, lots of guys I know with a CCW. We all are fighting the good fight for our rights to own firearms. What really pisses me off is companies that refuse to sell or ship here. They are screwing us, the gun owners, not California. Now, I'm not a California gun owner, I am an American gun owner. So they are screwing gun owners, all of us. And another thing, now that I am on a Bourbon induced rant; All you out of staters have the answer to our issues. Ok, I see other states having gun control problems also, how about solving you states problems before spewing forth all your knowledge on repairing our state. Do you think we just watch all this unfold before our eyes and say nothing. It's been a tough fight all the way and no end in sight. Whats happening here can and will happen to you. All of it = nothing to do with crime, all of it = removing our rights.

Now that the State of Kalifornia effectively controls commercial ammunition, how long does anyone think it will be before they limit the purchase of brass, primers, powder, and bullets? I hope no one here is naive enough to think it will be very long. The only reason such items weren't on the recent commercial ammunition legislation is most likely that the Kalifornia legislators are so ignorant they simply don't know anything about reloading...yet.
