Yes we sure could, there is a ton of info on it in this subsection of the forum. We are not pioneering anything new, lolI decided to let my smith get started on mine. Maybe when done we can swap some info?
That’s why I went ahead with it too.If I do another 6.5x47 Lapua Barrel, it will be a 7.5 twist and chambered for the heavier projectiles.

6.5x47Milo,
Are you talking about a 6mm or a 6.5? My 8 twist is fine for 130 grain 6.5mm but I am considering the 7.5 for the 140s. My 6BR is an 8 and shoots 105s well so maybe a 7.5 for that and 110 or 115s in 6mm.

Good catch, I was talking 6x47, my reading skills are off.7.5 sounds a little fast for 110 grain 6.5mm projectiles.
I ran 140 hybrids in my 6.5-284 and had the above mentioned blank sitting around. I wanted to get away from the Norma due to barrel life (last barrel 963 rnds) so I thought I’d use the blank and do up a Lapua. I was just curious if anyone was running a 1:7.5 twist on their 6.5x47 Lapua since I see most are running a 1:8 or 1:8.5 twist. I had bought the 1:7.5 in thinking I might try 150gr Sierra in the Norma but never got around to it. I got my new Sierra VI manual yesterday and it’s looking like I’ll be just fine with a 1:7.5 twist on the Lapua .7.5 sounds a little fast for 110 grain 6.5mm projectiles.
Lol, thanks for taking blame! I was the one who could not comprehend.Sorry for all the confusion guys, I’m a newb on here.
