6.5x47 Lapua

Decided to get away from 6.5-284 and had a Bartlein 1:7.5 5r laying around. Anyone running this twist on the Lapua round?

I'm about to, new "Build" in paint now, may be done. My previous 2 were 8tw and I ran hybrids, the 7.5tw should be perfect for a 110 or a dtac(115) which the new one was throated for.
It'll be 8-10 days before I can really comment on it, I need to knock a Dasher out this week before I can start on it.

Milo,

Are you talking about a 6mm or a 6.5? My 8 twist is fine for 130 grain 6.5mm but I am considering the 7.5 for the 140s. My 6BR is an 8 and shoots 105s well so maybe a 7.5 for that and 110 or 115s in 6mm.

7.5 sounds a little fast for 110 grain 6.5mm projectiles.
Good catch, I was talking 6x47, my reading skills are off.
Sorry to all for the confusion.
When I shot 6.5x47, all my barrels were 8 or 8.5 tw as I only shot 130gr bullets for the most part(Norma)

I ran 140 hybrids in my 6.5-284 and had the above mentioned blank sitting around. I wanted to get away from the Norma due to barrel life (last barrel 963 rnds) so I thought I’d use the blank and do up a Lapua. I was just curious if anyone was running a 1:7.5 twist on their 6.5x47 Lapua since I see most are running a 1:8 or 1:8.5 twist. I had bought the 1:7.5 in thinking I might try 150gr Sierra in the Norma but never got around to it. I got my new Sierra VI manual yesterday and it’s looking like I’ll be just fine with a 1:7.5 twist on the Lapua .
