Vudoo

Okay, so Bighorn is known for having R700 stock and aftermarket fit along with the interchangeable bolt heads and barrel nut akin to Savage.
Could it be possible to make a Single shot action that would work with both centerfire and rimfire?
Better yet, what if they had a repeater that could do it? The PRS crowd would go ape over it! Being able to practice, albeit inexpensively, with the same rifle you compete with?
This post ought to get some RF purists stirred up!!!
:D :p ;)
I bought a Sauer TR 202 about 25 years ago. Swap barrel .308/.22 used by the Norwegian shooting team, so that's already been done.. I shot a 5 shot group with it I have never been able to duplicate...even with custom br's. And I shot it off sandbags with the aperture sights that came with it. When I decided on a scope, I asked my big local area gun store if they could order me a Nightforce 12-42 ( again, 25 years ago); they looked at me like I had a third eye in my forehead. Things change.

Firing pin location, style and lug location would be a real pain to make work.

Most all 40x styles like the Vudoo, CZ, Annie all have mid area bolt lugs. All R700 have lugs in the front, extraction might be tight with the action lug area.

40X’s and clones do not have rear lugs, they are a mid lug design. That is a big difference in the ignition system.

I love mine, I'm a lefty and about to order a right handed action for the kids. They were shooting my lefty today and can run it way easier than there CZ452. I just gotta get the wife convinced that the kids NEED a $2500 rifle.....

I'm thinking the same. I'm probably gonna end up with a $2300 pellet gun first. I'll need to convince my wife its necessary for rodent control. That daystate wolverine hp r is really tugging at me. Been saving like crazy for it.
Maybe in the not too distant future I can get a vudoo.

Can you elaborate on ignition system ? is the 40X style bolt being mid length bolt lugs have a problem ? Thanks.

The 40X system is simply a bit more complicated than some others.
In the benchrest world, they require more “ tinkering” if you will to extract absolute max consistent ignition which in this application is really not an issue, these not really intended to be purpose built BR rigs which typically are 2-3 rear lug, PAS (pin around spring) or SAP (spring around pin) design.....less moving parts.

That is correct I drove 25 miles too the range shoot the one target and drove back home.

That's what I was thinking. Probably shot a bunch more just picked out the best group for display? When I shoot for groups and test accuracy I shoot a full box of 50 (ten 5-shot groups) and put that on display. Like this.

But now if I really wanted to cherry pick I would take this group, crop out what I needed in MS Paint and post this single best group ever. 5 shots at 50 yards.
