Vudoo

I was packing up at my local range today after testing some bullets and a few fellas showed up their vudoo rifles. They were kind enough and invited me to shoot them. Most impressive!! We only shot them at steel targets at 300yds. Hitting 2" targets with regulatory. I would have very much liked to set up a target at 100yds but was pressed for time. I think ill have a chance again another time. They both shot center x and the yellow sk ammo very well.
Now, if I can get my hands on a Stiller 2500x repeater to compare. I wanna shoot a daystate wolverine air rifle too.

If a big need to feed from a mag, they have a nice system. If you’re motivated by pure accuracy potential, that would be the Stiller hands down but critical, is proper fitting of a proper barrel/chamber.

Just go ahead and say you don't care for the Vudoo. It's okay.
You've made it pretty clear in most all your posts in this forum.

@holstil as a Vudoo owner I will say they are a great repeater platform for 22LR. A joy to shoot and smooth to operate. Plus I've had zero issue with feeding anything.

I 100% agree on the chamber/barrel statement here. The chambers on Vudoo's are cut for minimum engraving.
I had a brief exchange with Mike at Vudoo and he said they are coming out with a BR version, we were suppose to meet at the club I shoot at last month, bit that didn't happen. Mike was going to share some of the specifics on the BR model. Vudoo is only 2-hours from where I am, so I was interested. but at last I am building another Falcon, no BR Vudoo for me.

I guess I'm not much of a communicator, a vudoo has been one of my wishlist guns since I learned of them.
If something I said in the past ever reflected anything negative about them it was never my intent. I'm trying to own one.

I don't think the reference was in regards to you.

Can you actually read??? Only thing I ever recall saying is that laying down, ringing a gong at a couple hundred, might not be gauge of precision accuracy.

So, since you seem to have a working familiarity with these, a question.
Frankly, have not heard of a BR offering, but, given that, are you aware of any particular changes from the parent 40x system?

Having owned a Stiller 2500XR and now a Vudoo V22 hands down the Vudoo wins in every aspect. It is simply a better action with a MUCH better magazine. The Stiller was a very good shooter but was a nightmare to get it to extract and eject with regularity. I sent it back to the gunsmith 2 times and back to Stiller at least one time, maybe 2 I can’t remember now. Jerry and Russ were great to deal with and I don’t mean to be negative towards him or his company, the action just had a lot of flaws. I ended up getting it to extract and eject myself by cutting the pusher extractor into a puller and modifying both to get a bit more purchase on the case. I also addressed the issue of the bolt cutting lead off the bullet in the magazine as one was being chambered. Plus fixing the sloppy magazine to magazine well fit.

I have first hand experience with 4 Vudoo rifles and they are are perfect and all are extremely accurate. Plus VGW has been the standard for customer service from all my interactions with the whole crew.

Funny you should mention Falcon’s, I was shooting the last three days with Tony Harper and had a brief chat about them, nothing revolutionary.
Not really familiar with them, I seen them and a few shooters compete at our club BR matches. my understanding it is really geared for F-class and PRS shooting, the appeal is the foot print being like a Rem 700., so all stock and accessories will fit. IMO more like a full size trainer in .22lr, a BR model was mentioned to me, but as I said I have not heard anything since being told one was on the planning board.
as for Falcon actions, older Turbo clone and since I don't compete at the national level and the price was right, suits me fine.

I can't imagine anyone handling one these and not being impressed. They are a very well built instrument. They are geared toward prs practice as I understand, but I can see these competing in much more. I'd be curious to see how they do in br matches.

Bighorn will have a 22 repeater coming soon.
I have a Vudoo and Absolutely love it! Feeds great and shoots great. I opted to get just the action and have my smith put a match barrel on it with h9is reamer.

Okay, so Bighorn is known for having R700 stock and aftermarket fit along with the interchangeable bolt heads and barrel nut akin to Savage.
Could it be possible to make a Single shot action that would work with both centerfire and rimfire?
Better yet, what if they had a repeater that could do it? The PRS crowd would go ape over it! Being able to practice, albeit inexpensively, with the same rifle you compete with?
This post ought to get some RF purists stirred up!!!
:D :p ;)

As I’m close to ordering a Vudoo, I called Bighorn today to ask. If there’s something in the works, they, or at least Ray, isn’t sharing it publicly and denied there was one in the works.

T rust me, I've seen the pic. I'll see Aaron this weekend and pester him again. He may bring one with.
