Never dealt with anyone like this before. Yesterday I ordered one of his Shadetree front rests. I received an email from him confirming the order and shortly thereafter I received another email telling me that the rest would be sent out on Monday.

That's a very fast turnaround in it's self but he won't receive a check until probably Thursday. I thought there was some mistake so I sent another email asking if he was sending it out prior to receiving payment. He assured me he was. I am flabbergasted. In my 82 years of life, I have never made a purchase where I would receive a product before the funds were in hand.

Good old Texan, does business the old way on a handshake so to speak.

Did the same with me on a Shilen trigger. Placed the order and he sent it out before receiving payment.

Most folks around these parts just assume everyone to be honest, if your word ain’t no good, well, there you go.

he's a wealth of information too, been shootin Benchrest since the old days!! and don't mind sharing:eek:. and like everyone else said, a dang fine fellow that just happens to make, imho, a fine coaxial rest that barely loses out to one that cost almost 4x as much and you can't have for a year after you decide you want it, and I said "barely":D. wishing you the best butch. bryant
 
Well, I’ve been burned. The first time was on shipping on a barrel to a guy in New York State. He needed a shot out, by BR standards, 6mm barrel. I spent the $20.00 for shipping and after 10 years I’m still waiting for the 20 bucks. That was the first time. There have been a few others. Did this break me? No. But I adapted the McDonald mentality. Order, pull up to window 1 to pay and then to window 2 for your order.
 
Just goes to show you there still are old school gentleman on this site. I have exchanged a few PM's with Mr. Lambert am he also came across as first rate.
Sure are. Even for a young guy like me, it's a good example of how things COULD work in this world if we'd be honest with each other.

Kenny Porter just sent me a die and collets, no questions asked, with an invoice in the box. I just sent him a cashier's check in return, no questions asked.

Porter is also a Texan. Huh.
 
He used to be pretty handy about getting a Shillen barrel to you or a gunsmith. I kinda wish he still could do that. He sent a barrel to my gunsmith and the smith calls and says " Your barrel came today and it as long as a well rope!"

He helped me pick out the right base. Was very helpful.

Builds a quality product

And He shipped my rest about the same time i mailed the check.

I have done the same. Never got stiffed on this forum.
