E-Targets in High Power: Survey

The survey is misleading and incomplete. You cannot have a delay nor should there be for 3P High Power rapid fire stages. This should apply to Prone only matches or at best slowfire stages.
Who mentioned 3P??? I must have missed that.....

Survey says 186 responses received and 83% are in favor of a delay. 95%+ of those folks think the delay should be at least 7 seconds with quite a few wanting it in the 10 second range. A few would like a random delay...lol.

Can we get a rule that if you are over 60 you don't have to shoot with a delay because you can't remember what the condition was for 7 seconds? :p

Now that's funny... lol

I'll be 60 next summer and I'm just a service rifle shooter so I don't fret to much over delay vs no delay stuff. We just strap on our sling lay down and shoot.

I have shot at Butner before on their electric / motorized up and down paper targets and I did not care for that delay being used to 5 second pit service at home back in the old days before Shotmarker changes our lives for the better...

Cheers
George

NOTE: this pertains to NRA Slow Fire Events.
If you have an NRA high power classification, you are invited to fill out this 2 question survey regarding whether or not there should be a delay in reporting the score on e-targets.

You can only fill out the survey once, duplicates will be discarded. Results will be collected for one week and then the results will be posted.

Thanks,
Scott

Scott,
Is this a survey the NRA is conducting and you are on the NRA Rules committee?

Or just something you are doing as a Shooter / Non NRA Official to gather interesting info?

There is some confusion as to whether this is actually the NRA officially gathering info on this topic or just an informal / unofficial survey from a concerned competitive shooter.

Thanks, George

Just a shooter gathering info and sharing it.

Excellent Thanks for the clarification.
I would think the NRA would ( should ) find the results interesting and informative.

Have you tallied all the votes yet or is the poll still open.

Thanks again,
George

Scott should be on the competition/rules committee.
I will forward all the data to the NRA. Waiting until we have access to the competitor nra number lookup to verify the results, i.e. people responding have US NRA numbers. After that, I will forward those results....along with recorded pull times for various state matches, and SWNs. Wind reading is the only thing that makes this sport interesting IMHO and the delay is the key part of making that a required skill!....oh sorry.....the horse is dead, buried, and has turned to dust!
