The Western Colorado Rifle and Silhouette Club has started hosting monthly 1 day 600 yard IBS matches.
We had our first registered match with 22 shooters in attendance on March 9th 2019, it was a hoot and some really great targets were shot. Now, dont get me wrong, we didn’t scare the records book at all, as a matter of fact, the best groups or group aggs we shot would need a 50% improvement to “worry” the record book. However a great time was had by most everyone, and nearly all the “steel shooters” in attendance said they were going to build themselves rifles to be more competitive. For our first match, it really was a good time. Tim Barber shot a group in the .6’s and kind of blew our skirts up
.
Now for the question;
What accomplishments are normally awarded for these type of events?
Are there accomplishments that are not normally recognized, that should be?
Here is what I see, please offer insite.
2-Gun Overall (Match winner as I see it?)
2-gun Group Agg
2-Gun Score Agg
HG Group Agg
HG Score Agg
LG Group Agg
LG Score Agg
Do the relay, group and score winners get a little something?
Plaques, metals, pins, certificates?????? Help us out please.
One thing to keep in mind is we only charge $30.00 for the day and most of that is tied up in fixed costs. I suppose if we charged $60.00 a day which I think is closer to the norm, we could do more.
We are just getting started and want to encourage shooters and build a lot of local interest. We realize we are a bit out of the way for most LR BR shooters to travel to, but maybe we will attract some hearty souls in the future?
