Cooper Arms Question

Tommie,

From what I have read the Wilson barrels are not a hindrance and Cooper stands behind their product from an accuracy standpoint. As long as it shoots I really don't care what is stamped on the barrel. Just my personal thoughts. :D:D

Paul

Yes sir Paul, that makes two of us....I have an extremely accurate excaliber Cooper that shoots way better than some of the so called "high end" custom barreled rifles I have shot/owned. I don't care for carbines with 22 inch barrels and I am not a big fan of the typically picky 243, but this one puts 'em in the same hole at 100 yards. Took it on trade to sell, shot it and decided it wasn't going anywhere.
I have personally always had pretty good luck with Wilson barrels. I would go one step further and say if there was any one maker that cornered the secret and was able to produce every barrel they make fantastically accurate.....he'd be the only one in business and we'd all be waiting a year for a barrel!!!

I’m not paying that kind of money for a rifle with a Wilson barrel.

Up until several years ago, I shared your opinion. Just too much money vs. my budget. Then I bought my first Cooper, used and at an excellent price. It is accurate with the widest variety of loads of any barrel I have ever shot. And that small action (model 21) is the most like the Sako Vixen L461 of anything I have come across. I still haven't bought a new one yet (the NOS one I purchased doesn't count). And every one is just like the first one.

Has anyone built a benchrest gun with cooper action Wilson barrel etc

It’s been done, there have been a couple in the northeast that have been done, however, your chances of a real killer are about the same as a unicorn sighting.

I have been very happy with all of them although I think they are becoming overpriced. The groundhogs here in north western Pennsylvania really really hate this one in a Swift!
