I was offered, and bought 2 boxes of Lapua gold box 6 BR brass. Headstamp is "6mm BR REM". When did Lapua change to headstamp " 6mm BR NORMA"? Is there anything about the gold box 6 BR brass that makes it different, good or bad?
I've measured 25 cases from gold and blue...Gold is .001- .0015 longer. Gold's neck wall thickness slightly more.Brass will be shorter. About .050 or so in my experience.

Gold Box implies it's 6BR Norma. Lapua never made 6BR Rem because of the patent?????
So, how old are mine?Well, My gold box says 6BR Norma

Both boxes unopened. My source says he got this brass and some bullet making dies from someone who feels they are 40 years old. The case diagrams show 2 differences in the 6mm BR Norma...the neck/ shoulder radius and the angle of the outside edge of the rim's base. Did Lapua do this after a patent infringement accusation? I sent a private msg to Kevin Thomas asking if he would be so kind as to clarify this observation. View attachment 1090526 View attachment 1090532

Where the boxes open when you bought them. Did someone put old Lapua Rem cases into a new Lapua Gold box? I thought the Gold box was the latest Lapua release. 6mmbr Norma: brown box, blue box, gold box. There are a few thou difference in the body diameter and a difference in the neck length between the Rem and Norma version. Lapua had to make enough dimension changes that the 6mmBR Norma could be patented as a new cartridge. I E-mailed Lapua and asked what years they made the 6mmBR Rem and the years for 6mmBR Norma. Apparently Lapua made some 6mmBR Rem cases violating the Rem patent, then Rem forced Lapua to make the 6 Norma to get away from the patent.
Don't understand your cartridge drawings. Lapua couldn't get a patent for a new cartridge with those two tiny changes. SAAMI doesn't have the drawings for the 6mmBR Rem or Norma on their webside. For some cartridges like the 6ppc there are many reamer versions. Don't know where you got your drawings from but I don't think they are correct. I saw an article a few years ago that told the history of the Rem & Norma. The drawings I saw had a few meaninless thou diff in body diameter and a longer neck on one of them. Both drawings above have a 0.322" neck length. My 6mmBR Norma cases are trimmed to 1.560" total length and a neck 0.314" long. Does it really matter, you either have a Rem or Norma barrel. I don't know if you can FF a Rem to Norma dimensions?
Just saw you got your drawings from WIKI.
