Time to get out of Dodge!

Remember that former Rep. Beto O’Rourke recently questioned the modern-day relevance of the U.S. Constitution and whether the country should still be governed by “the same principles that were set down 230-plus years ago.” This being a very unsettling statement IMHO!

A very serious statement. The left wants rid of the Constitution. Often times it seems we have lost much of it already. justice is almost unaffordable when the Constitution is at issue.

We are on the same page !

Our Founding Fathers were absolute genius' for creating the Electoral College. If we didn't have it, every "national" election would be determined by the votes in the heavily populated major cities.

It pretty much is now. Maybe 20 blue counties out of 3200 or so hold a lot of sway. I wish each county had an electoral delegate...

Even in the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia only about 1/3 of the counties are blue. If you split the coastal west 1/3 of the state off we would have a huge conservative state.

If i remember correctly ?????? a few years ago a Supreme Court Judge by the name of Ruth Ginsburg questioned the need for the Constitution. Please correct me if i am wrong.

The left keeps trying to recycle the same old Socialist/Communist agenda from the early 1900's, by another name.

Elected representative still have the mindset shared by our former King George the third. We still have taxation without representation, on a much greater scale. Despots all think alike. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. This people are cunning.

Here in Pa, we are pretty much assured the vote from Phila, Pittsburg and Scranton pretty much decide who our governor will be. Those are major Democrat cities. Matt
Yes but the people spoke on Nov of 16 and the stated went RED .....
I like red .

You pack up and move and you end up with the same crap you just left.

I don't think the country is as bad as the MEDIA makes it out to be. Get away from the DC beltway and it's America again. You don't like what CNN and the other fake news programs are putting out? Turn off your TV. Go read a book OR, talk to your wife.;)
You don't like the protesters? Don't watch/listen to them. They're not in your house are they??:p Write your Congressman/ Senator and see how far that gets you. When it comes time to vote, vote them OUT!! That's how Trump got elected.:D:cool: You don't have to love him, just be glad it wasn't Hillary or Bernie.

Are there any “major” US cities that don’t vote for, or not controlled by, the Democratic Party?

Not paying attention to what is going on does not mean that it is not going on. Just means that are not getting upset by it. I will not stick my head in the sand, even if that is "easier".

The country may not be what the media says, but it is going down the toilet. In my state of Colorado, taxes are high, freedoms are curtailed frequently, attitudes are far different than in the past, and the number of people is up big time.
The people that I work for just bought a new car, a 2019 Ford Expedition. One of my jobs is to take care of vehicle registrations and such. I was at the county offices this morning. Local taxes and fees added up to about $1700, that does NOT include the 3.5% state sales tax that was already paid. Each year the registration will be about 800 to 1000. So, if they keep that car for 5 years it will have cost them roughly $8000 in taxes and fees! That is also assuming that there isn't another increase in rates over the next five years.

I also, in the state of Colorado, can't buy a magazine that holds over 15 rounds. I also cannot buy a gun from a friend or from someone advertising in the paper. Technically, I can't load a gun to a friend who shows up to hunt with the airline losing his bags. I need a license to shoot coyotes, and prairie dogs, and there is a season on prairie dogs and other rodents. My big game application fee just went up a few dollars, as did all the big game license fees. All the while the quality of hunt and quantity of animals has gone down.

The hunting issue is separate from the others in my mind. It isn't a "liberal" agenda. If anything the game board has let the state be hunted too aggressively. Tag prices should have gone way up long ago. Too many hunters and the animal populations are dwindling, but the uproar would be deafening if they tried to reel it in and let the populations recover.

You seem to accentuate the negative. Polis did not win in a landslide. Every tax increase at the state level was voted down. Taxes are not high relative to other states. I pay around $7000 in property taxes on my home the same value home in Wisconsin would be over $31000. The ownership tax on vehicles decreases as the value of the vehicle depreciates. I could go on.

You mentioned the liberals want to make everyone “bitter and unhappy” it seems to be working on you.

Not to be nosy, but how much is your home worth? It would take a multi million dollar home in WI. to earn a $31,000.00 tax bill.

I hunted Colorado once, two years ago. It costs plenty for a non resident tag now. If they need to cut the quotas back to increase herd size, then so be it. I think it's sad that hunting has been turned into a rich man's game.

Again, the other side of the story is bit different than what has been said above. As the article at the link below states with the exception of the southwestern part of the state elk populations are doing fine.
