Hawkeye borescope with smart phone camera

Didn't want to derail the other borescope thread, but has anyone figured out how to use a smart phone with a hawkeye borescope? Could you rig up a bracket and just attach it to the eyepiece? Surely someone has tried.

I tried but could not do it. Its not like doing it through a spotting scope. The eye relief on the bore scope is very short, maybe thats why.

Thanks for trying Alex. I have thought about that myself.

I thought about trying a clip on macro lens or something. This is the best I could do with my old S7...

I use a Samsung on a Hawkeye. It has a slip-on "rubber" protective skin made by Tech21 Impactology. I cut an 'X' at the camera lens and by taking the cover off, inserting, replacing the cover it mounts firmly for pix and vid. I'll try post some.
Please do. I just purchase a Vividia kit and it includes a phone/camera mount. The mount is a bit finicky to get lined up but it works.

Based on the snapshot above, the Hawkeye optical quality is a couple clicks better than my Vividia.

I was trying to decide between the Lyman and the hawkeye and decided on the hawkeye. looking through it is like being there and once you figure out what works for cleaning you can sell it for what you have in it if you want!! good luck and ymmv:D

Lyman is an electrical reproduced image.
Hawkeye is a direct image.

Is it worth the extra expense ?
Depends on what you want.
If I wanted it ..... I'd get it.

The eye piece isn't made to have weight attached. If you use a camera on a cord then it becomes an electrical reproduced image.
