Range box/chest

Why fool around with little tool boxes when something like this will get the job done.

Merry Christmas,

Now that's what I'm talking about, go big on or go home!

You guys have got me motivated now on this cart deal. All I need to do is get out of the garage 20 yards or so. Thinking about wheels on one of those flat top job boxes that you see carried in back of pickups. Could carry hard rifle cases on top and attach a piece of pvc on side for cleaning rod. Put a long tongue with handle on it and pull it like a kids wagon.

Why stop there, might as well put a hitch on it and pull it with your golf cart or ATV

F-250 is the automotive equivalent of a Creedmoor.
Step up to a Dodge 3/4 ton Cummins. They let you park with the semi's at truck stops...

PS: just got back from Lowes. $79.99

The Cummins 3/4 is like the 338 Lapua, 95% of owners don't use any of the extra capability and would be better suited by something smaller. :p

I take everything I need to the range in a double rifle case. It fits all the ammo, cleaning rod, etc. It's got wheels that make it easy to roll in and out of the bed from the tailgate.

Somehow we got away from my original question.

I’m specifically looking for a cart/box/case of some sort with wheels to ONLY call Seb Neo, rear bag, ammo and other small pieces needed to shoot a match.

Not rifles, loading gear, tools, and all of that.

My reason again, was to have my seb in a box with my match gear. Specially to not have multiple boxes to bring to a match.

I know this is not first hand help, but I googled “Range bag with wheels” and quite a bit came up.

Cory, for my seb I use a SKB 2217 case. I’m able to get a NEO, protektor rear bag, bag risers and dead bottoms along with the other small things I use at the bench(grease, bolt lube, towels). Not sure what one new costs, found mine used from a local marketplace listing. I think some guys are using a pelican 1650 IIRC, maybe someone will chime in that has one.

I have a foldable cart I put tool box full of gear, Plano rest box, cleaning box, stool, ammo in it..... Works for not so many trips to truck.

I am looking for advice on what you all use for transporting your gear to and from matches and range sessions. I travel a lot for work and I have found it to be much easier to keep all of my range and match stuff all together.

I just got a seb neo and would like to include it in a case. Will need other stuff like rear bags, ammo box, bolt.. etc etc.

Would something like this be be a good idea?

I have a NEO and I use the Pelican 2620. I get my NEO, my rear bag, 2 sand bags, my bathroom floor mat, electronic ear muffs, my ammo cradle, and several small hand towels in this case. I took all the misc stuff out. so you could see the lay out. It aint smething the weak backed should try to pick up. but it all goes in there.

Muleman69 and I have been shooting nearly every weekend this winter and the most important thing we bring lately is firewood. It's been cold here !!

The Pelican iM2620 was also perfect for my SEB NEO and some misc. bench stuff. Wheels, handle etc. look at many suppliers as I have seen prices on this case from $140.00 to $220.00.

First, gather all the items you want to put in the case and roughly figure out the internal dimensions that you’ll need (write the dimensions down, overall footprint). Then go to Home Depot (with a tape measure) and look through the various plastic cases they have on-hand. Some will have wheels and pull-handles. Consider that a ‘shelf’ can be made using 1”x2” wood strips bolted through the sides of the container and a 1/2” board cut to fit as the shelf. Can then put Seb on bottom and lighter things above on the shelf. Remember: the box will get pretty heavy and you’ll need provisions for lifting a full box to put it in vehicle. Figure the box may weigh 40 lbs and more with a Seb, rear bag and a few other items (ammo, etc).

This is what I use, it is not so big that is hard to lift or move around in a crowded range. It has a tray that will hold small stuff and plenty of room in the bottom. I don’t haul my rest in it as it would be too heavy and awkward for me to lift from my truck, but I keep my doctor bag and two other lighter bags in it.
The only draw back for this box is the wheels are hard plactic and jostle some of the small stuff in the tray and wind up in the bottom. E

A tool box is a very personal thing. So what is right for me may not be right for you.

I'm an F-Class shooter and I carry a lot of stuff that most people don't. I've had to rescue many people that had emergencies crop up during a match or just practice. I use this MTM tool box that also doubles as a gun craddle. I've had it 5 years and if I had seen a better one I would have bought it. Of course I have other bags that I use for sand bags or rear rest, targets and clamps, etc... A bench rest shooter or tactical shooter would have completely different needs.

Of course for match days when you have to carry everything to the firing line you need something bigger, like this:

That's very similar to a Marina cart I mentioned on the first page

Personally I want to carry the least amount of crap I can.
I'm always thinking about this when selecting items.
